NOTE: NITIE Mumbai is now IIM Mumbai, The institution formerly recognized as the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) has undergone an official transformation and is now formally referred to as the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM Mumbai). Following the successful passage of the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill 2023 through both houses of parliament and subsequent endorsement by the president, the Ministry of Law and Justice proceeded to publish a gazette. 

According to the official gazette, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) shall remain operational until a new board is established for the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in accordance with the provisions of this legislation. Upon the enactment of this legislation, the existing board will be dissolved subsequent to the establishment of a new board. According to the aforementioned act, it is imperative for IIM to designate a new academic council. However, until such time, the current council will persist in carrying out its duties.
