IIM Shillong Overview

Indian Institute of Management Shillong is a second-generation IIM established in India in the year 2017. The institute has been ranked 26th by NIRF 2023 among the top management institutes in the country. As per the Outlook, I Care Ranking 2021, IIM Shillong is placed 11th among the country's top 50 business schools. The institute is ranked 16th among India's top 100 business schools in the India Today MDRA ranking 2020. IIM Shillong Admission 2024 

IIM Shillong has started the admission process for the two-year MBA for Working Executives (PGP-WE) and the one-year full-time residential PGP for Executives (PGPEx) for 2024. IIM Shillong’s PGPEx application process started on September 1, 2023, and the PGP WE application process on September 8, 2023. The executive PGP, PGPEx offered at the institute is designed for executives with a minimum of 5 years of work experience, whereas the PGP-WE program serves those who wish to uplift their careers in management while working without taking a break and have a minimum of 3 years of work experience. IIM Shillong admission 2024 to the PGPEx program is based on CAT/GMAT scores. The institute determines the eligibility of each candidate based on the minimum cut-off set in the CAT and GMAT examinations.  After shortlisting the eligible candidates based on their CAT/GMAT scores and other basic eligibility criteria, IIM Shillong invites them for group discussions and personal interviews. 

IIM Shillong admission 2024 to the PGP WE program is also based on CAT/GMAT scores. However, the institute also admits students to this program through a written exam WE-MAT given they have not taken the CAT or GMAT tests. Admission to the two-year full-time residential MBA/PGP program is based on CAT scores. MBA admission for the academic year 2023-2025, is based on CAT 2022 scores for domestic candidates. International candidates who wish to be admitted to the MBA program can use their GMAT score obtained after December 15, 2017. The admission process of the MBA program is a two-stage process, which begins with shortlisting the candidates according to their CAT scores, followed by the final selection round consisting of group discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PI). Common Admission Test

Students can get MBA admission to prominent management institutes and top B-schools in India by taking the Common Admission Test (CAT). IIM Shillong 2024 admission to its post-graduate management program, MBA/PGP is based on Common Admission Test 2023 scores. The official announcement regarding CAT 2023 was released on July 30, 2023, and its registration started on August 2, 2023. MBA aspiring candidates must register by September 13, 2023. The CAT 2023 is scheduled to take place on November 26, 2023. As you all are aware, the CAT exam will take place in 3 slots. To secure admission to the top IIMs and B-schools in the country, aspirants must continue their exam preparation dedicatedly. The registration fee for CAT 2023 has been increased for both reserved and unreserved category students. For the unreserved category, the fee has been increased to INR 2,400 from INR 2,300. Similarly, for reserved category candidates, the fee has been revised to INR 1,200 from INR 1,150. IIM Shillong has set the minimum overall cut-off in CAT as 90 percentile and the sectional cut-off as 75 percentile. These are the minimum required cutoffs to shortlist candidates for final rounds of selection.

IIM Shillong MBA Admission 

IIM Shillong MBA admission for the 2023-25 academic session is based on CAT 2022 scores. Applicants must possess a valid CAT 2022 score that aligns with IIM Shillong's shortlisting eligibility criteria, as detailed on the official website. As per the notification released by the institute, the admission process for domestic candidates for the PGP 2023-25 program is currently in progress, and no new applications are being considered at this stage. However, domestic candidates who missed CAT 2022 can still apply by taking CAT 2023. Registration for CAT 2023 opened on August 2, 2023. For IIM Shillong PGP 2024 admission, domestic candidates will be assessed based on their CAT 2023 scores, while overseas candidates can apply for the program through their GMAT scores obtained after December 15, 2017. The application fee for these candidates is USD 100, which is payable during the application submission. The PGP admission process comprises two stages. Initially, candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT scores. Subsequently, shortlisted candidates undergo a final selection process that includes group discussions (GD) and personal interviews (PI). IIM Shillong MBA Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates must fulfill the basic requirements given below to be eligible for admission to the MBA program at IIM Shillong:

  • A bachelor's degree with at least a 50% or an equivalent CGPA. (A minimum of 45% for applicants under reserved categories.)
  • In India, the Bachelor's Degree must be given by a college or university that has been recognized by an Act of Parliament or State legislature. It must hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or be declared to be presumed to be a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. 

For international candidates, the following conditions apply in addition to the basic eligibility criteria mentioned above:

  • 640 in GMAT.
  • They must hold an Indian passport and have lived, worked, or studied outside India continuously for at least one year (for Indian residents abroad).
  • The Personal Interview round will take place in India.

IIM Shillong has set a minimum CAT cut-off for both sectional and overall stages in the admission process.
