Common Admission Test

Indian students can gain admission to prominent management institutes by taking the Common Admission Test (CAT). IIM Shillong admission to numerous post-graduate management programs (MBA/PGP) is based on CAT scores. On July 30, 2023, the official announcement containing information regarding CAT 2023 was released, and registration started on August 2. To take the test, candidates must register by September 13, 2023. The eagerly awaited CAT 2023 is slated to take place on November 26, 2023. The exam will take place in 3 slots. All of the CAT 2023 registration fees have seen a modest hike. For general category candidates, the fee has been raised to INR 2,400 which was INR 2,300 for CAT 2022. Similarly, for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, the fee has been revised to INR 1,200 from INR 1,150. IIM Shillong's overall CAT cut-off is 90 percentile and the sectional cut-off is 75 percentile. IIM Shillong admission to the Post Graduate Program (PGP) in management for the 2023-25 academic session relies on CAT 2022 scores. Applicants must possess a valid CAT 2022 score that aligns with IIM Shillong's shortlisting eligibility criteria, as detailed on the official website. Eligibility Criteria for IIM Shillong PGP 2024 Admission

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) at IIM Shillong:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree with at least a 50% or an equivalent CGPA. (A minimum of 45% marks is necessary for applicants who fall under the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and PwD categories.)
  • In India, the Bachelor's Degree must be conferred by a college or university that has been authorized/recognized by an Act of Parliament or State legislature. It must also hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or be declared to be presumed to be a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

For overseas candidates, in addition to the general eligibility criteria mentioned above, the following conditions apply:

  • A minimum GMAT score of 640.
  • Applicants must hold an Indian passport and have lived, worked, or studied outside India continuously for at least 12 months (for Indian residents abroad).
  • The final stage of the PGP admission process, including a Personal Interview, will take place in India.

Eligibility and admission criteria for overseas candidates who can apply for IIM Shillong PGP admission 2024:

  • Candidates in their final year of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Candidates who have finished their degree requirements but are awaiting results
  • ProvisionalIIM Shillong admission will be granted only upon submitting a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution. This certificate should confirm that they have fulfilled all the requirements for obtaining their Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification on the date of the certificate's issuance.
  • These candidates must also provide their final graduation results by the end of the year, fulfilling the minimum percentage criteria mentioned earlier.
  • The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate will be calculated as per the instructions from their respective University/Institution. In the case of grades or CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks will be carried out based on the method certified by the relevant University/Institution. If a University/Institution does not have a specific scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence will be determined by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and then multiplying the result by 100.
