IIM Indore has restructured its Indian Institute of Management Indore Admission process in 2024. This time the prestigious B-School will focus more on improving the academics of its MBA participants and encourage gender diversity in its classrooms. CAT 2023

The CAT 2023 exam is a mandatory examination for admission in various postgraduate and Fellow/Doctoral programs at various IIMs. The computer-based Common Admission Test 2023 will be conducted on November 26th, 2023. The test is conducted in three sessions, across 155 cities with around 300 venues for the examination. The candidates can select six preferred cities.

CAT is one of the most competitive exams conducted in the country. The CAT syllabus 2023 includes Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). This syllabus for CAT is Designed by the Indian Institute of Management themselves.

CAT exam score has been allowed for the non-IIMs to be considered for examination. The list of these non-IIMs has been provided on the CAT website. However, IIMs have no role in the selection process of these non-IIMs.

Merely cracking the CAT examination along with fulfilling eligibility criteria doesn’t assure shortlisting for any of the IIMs. Various IIMs and departments might assess the candidate on different parameters for further shortlisting.

Registration Fees for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates is Rs.1,200. While for other categories of candidates, the registration fee for CAT 2023 is Rs. 2,400. The candidate must pay the registration fees only once, not related to the number of institutes he/she is applying for. Must be noted that once the fee is paid it cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

IIM Indore CAT Cut Offs

IIM Indore offers admission primarily based on valid CAT scores. Steps for IIM Indore Admission

Aspirants seeking admission in the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) of IIM Indore should submit their application between the period end-November to mid-February, and complete the transaction (non-refundable/non-transferable) of the application fees, i.e. INR 1000/- + GST extra for general, NC-OBC and EWS category and INR 500/- + GST extra for SC, ST and PWD category.

Candidates aspiring for IIM Indore admission to the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) belonging to NC-OBC, SC, ST, WES, and PWD categories need to produce a valid certificate(s) in support of their reservation category. No modification in the category will be allowed after applying. 

The shortlisting for the IIM Indore admission process (on the recommendation of respective areas) on the based information provided in the application form is as follows:

• STEP 1: The candidates who qualify for the academic criteria mentioned above should go on to submit their application form online.
• STEP 2: Based on the application received, details of scores and grades, and candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria and acceptable standard of the test the shortlisting will be done by the respective Areas and selected candidates, be shortlisted after the CAT 2023 exam will be called for personal interview (PI). The interview round will be conducted at IIM Indore during March/April.
• STEP 3: IIM Indore expects a consistent and standard performance from the candidate participants of the Personal Interview (PI) round in different parameters. It will be decided by the Admission Committee. Candidates who fail to meet the minimum performance  criteria in any of the PI parameters will not be considered for the next stage of the selection process, i.e. Step 4
• STEP 4: Final selection will be based on the requirements of the respective academy area in which the candidate has applied and an area-wise selection offer list will be prepared.

Only candidates who will make it past the selection criteria/ requirements mentioned in the earlier stages will be considered for the final selection. Category-wise and academic-area-wise merit list is released after their generation based on their performance in the Personal Interview(PI) and provisional admission offers will be made.

Reservation norms at IIM Indore for Fellow Program in Management (FPM)

The government of India has provided a structure for admission reservations which says that around 27 percent of seats are reserved for other backward classes (OBC), and candidates belonging to the noncreamy layer (NC-OBC), 15% for schedule caste (SC), 7.5% for schedule drive and 5% per person with benchmark disabilities (PwD).

As per the Rights of a person with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016), a person with this benchmark disability means a person with not less than 40% of a specified disability where the specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with disability where specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as specified by the certifying authority

The term specified disability means the disabilities as specified in the schedule of the REwD Act 2016, several categories of disability are:

• Other ‘specified disabilities’ as mentioned in the RPwD Act 2016.
• Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d), and
