Presidency University Focus On Sustainable Development Through Its SDG Center

With a special focus on Bangalore Rural District as a sample demographic for clusters, the Sustainable Development Goals Center (SDG Center) at Presidency University, Bangalore, focuses on investigative techno-social work, consultation, research, and training on SDGs.

During a visit to the Kakolu Government High School in Bangalore, India, a group of 15 students and professors spent more than two hours discussing the 17 goals of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network while using real-world examples. The postgraduate students prepared a presentation using visual aids like charts and talked in Kannada, which is spoken locally and used as the school they visited as their language of teaching. After the talk, they held a drawing and sketching competition. The 22 nearby villages provided the school with its student body, which ranged in age from 12 to 16. About 150 kids in the group demonstrated an mature comprehension of the objectives and what it would take to work toward them after the presentation.

Clean Nandi Hills initiative :

A group of 70 students headed by staff members went to the Nandi Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty that has been significant to Karnataka's history and is a well-liked tourist destination, to clear the area of all dry garbage. As instructed by the Nandi Hills officials, about 100 kg of dry garbage was gathered and delivered to the Nandi Hills waste collection facility. Presidency University Eligibility Criteria

The Presidency University Course admission eligibility criteria for various courses are given below.

1.   Eligibility Criteria for B.TECH PROGRAMS (Regular/Lateral Entry)

B.TECH Program Eligibility Criteria (Regular)

  • Candidates for the B.Tech program must have completed the Pre-University, Higher Secondary, or equivalent 10+2 examination from an authorized State or Central government board or,
  • from an international board, such as the University of Cambridge "A" level certificate or the International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva, etc.,
  • with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Electrochemistry.
  • The applicant must have taken one of the following entry exams for a presidency university: CET, Comed-K, JEE, etc.

B.TECH Program Eligibility Criteria (Lateral Entry)

  • For admission to B.Tech Programs (Lateral Entry), a candidate must have passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination with a minimum cumulative score of 60%.
  • The candidate should have taken any admission test at the state level.

2.  Eligibility Criteria for the M.TECH. Program

  • A candidate for the M.TECH program must hold a bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent in engineering from an Indian university or a foreign institution accredited by the UGC or AIU, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50%. SC/ST and other Reserved Category applicants must have a minimum cumulative score of 45%.
  • Candidate must have taken any admission test at the national, state, or Presidency University entrance examination PGCET, GA (Lateral Entry)

Selection Criteria

In addition to the regular qualifying requirements, candidates must take the Presidency University, Bengaluru evaluation test.

Additionally, candidates must show up for the personal interview procedure.

The admissions committee also takes into account academic and extracurricular records.

3.   Eligibility Criteria for B.COM Programs:

  • A minimum of 50% overall in the 10+2 or an equivalent test from any recognized board is required for candidates seeking admission to the B.Com program.

4.   Eligibility Criteria for B.SC. – Economics:

  • Candidates for admission to the B.Sc. Economics program must have passed the (10 + 2)/PUC or an exam of an equivalent level with a minimum of 50% overall.

5.   Eligibility Criteria for BA LLB (Hons)/BBA LLB/BCOM LLB

  • Pass the pre-university, higher secondary, or 10+2 examination from an accredited board with a minimum overall grade point average of 45% (40% for applicants who fall under the reserved category).
  • Appeared for the PULAT (Presidency University Law Admission Test), LSAT / CLAT exams.
  • The maximum age for applicants is 20 years old as of the first day of July in the admissions year (22 years for applicants who fall under the Reserved Category).

Selection Criteria

Students must take and pass one of the national-level entrance exams. LSAT or CLAT

Students may also take the Presidency University Law Admission Test (PULAT), an entrance exam for scholarships.

After the entrance exam, candidates must show up for a personal interview.

Records from extracurricular activities and school will be given equal weight.

6. Eligibility Criteria for LLM- Intellectual Property/LLM – Technology Law

  • No student shall be eligible for admission to the One-Year Master of Law (LL.M) Degree Program unless he or she has successfully completed the test required to be awarded an LL.B degree by a university.
  • The All India Admission Test, which is administered annually by universities individually or by a group of universities jointly, with the purpose of evaluating candidates' aptitude for teaching and research, legal reasoning, comprehension, and basic legal knowledge, as well as an interview conducted by Presidency University's Center for Post-Graduate Studies, will all be taken into consideration for admission to the one-year Master of Law (LL.M) program.

7.   Eligibility Criteria for the MBA program

  • The applicant for admission to the MBA program must have earned a degree from an accredited university with a minimum aggregate score of 50% on the Qualifying Examination. For candidates in the SC/ST and other Reserved Categories, a minimum cumulative score of 45% is necessary.
  • Candidate must have taken one of the following entry exams for presidency universities: PGCET, CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, or KMAT.

Presidency University Selection Criteria For MBA

Candidates must show up in person or through Skype for the personal interview process, which consists of an oral extempore presentation and a personal interview.

For admittance, other factors such as a student's academic record, extracurricular involvement, and employment history have more weight.

Based on the candidate's overall performance during the interview process, they will be chosen at the end.

8.   Eligibility Criteria for BBA & BBA (Aviation) Programs:

  • A candidate seeking admission to the BBA and BBA (Aviation) programs must have earned at least a 50% overall grade point average in their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

9.   Eligibility Criteria for B.DES Program:

  • In order to be considered for admission to the B.DES program, a candidate must have successfully completed the Pre-University/Higher Secondary/10+2 examination with a grade of at least 45% in the Arts, Commerce, or Science stream, or 40% in the case of candidates from the SC/ST and other Reserved Categories like Category -1 and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B) from Karnataka.
  • The applicant must have taken an admission test for a presidency university, such as the UCEED

10.   Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. - Multimedia:

  • A candidate for admission to the B.Sc. multimedia program must have earned at least 50% of the possible aggregate marks in the 10+2 or PUC or equivalent exams.

Selection Process

Every applicant must successfully complete both Phases of the admission exam in order to receive a fair assessment of their potential, aptitude, and capacity to enroll in the B.Des program.

Phase 1

  • During this stage, applicants must submit a STATEMENT OF PURPOSE using our online submission form.
  • The reason this is the most significant portion of the entrance exam is that you, as an applicant, will make your first impression here by describing who you are, why you are applying for this specific school, why you are a strong fit, and what your future aspirations are.

Phase 2

Phase 2 will take place on Bengaluru University's campus. The three rounds that make up this portion of the entrance exam are listed below.

  • Through the General Knowledge Test, we can determine your worldview, issues, and areas of interest. You will demonstrate your creativity, logical reasoning, and applications (drawing, etc.) in the Design Aptitude Test.
  • During the personal interview, we will speak with you to get to know you better and learn more about your interests.
  • If you are interested in music, cooking, sports, painting, trekking, illustration, or making things; please do carry your creations.

11.   Eligibility Criteria for BCA:

  • A candidate seeking admission to the BCA program must have earned at least 50% of the possible points in their 10+2 or equivalent test from a recognized board.

12.   Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Data Science:

  • Candidates for admission to the B.Sc. in Data Science program must have completed the 10+2 or PUC or an equivalent exam, with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the courses, with a minimum of 50% overall.

13.   Eligibility Criteria for MCA:

  • Completed a BCA/Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Computer Science or an equivalent degree (OR) passed a B.Sc., B.Com., or B.A. with mathematics at the graduate or 10+2 levels.
  • Gotten at least 50% on the qualifying exam, or 45% on the exam for applicants in the reserved category.
  • The applicant must have taken one of the PGCET, KMAT, or other presidency university entry exams at the national, state, or regional level.
