The central government has done a major overhaul in the domain of medical education which will be beneficial for NEET UG and PG candidates across the country. The current state of health and family welfare also disclosed in the parliament regarding the figure of MBBS and postgraduate medical seats in the country, and the number has significantly increased.

Developments of Importance for NEET Aspirants
1. Seats Distribution By State
- Uttar Pradesh: +2,850 seats (Max increase)
- West Bengal: +1,200 seats
- North East Regions: 90% funding from Central Government for new colleges
2. Upgrade of Facilities
- RML Hospital: Seats ↑100 to 250 (+150%)
- New Beds: 666 newly added in RML (Total 2,198)
3. Financial Aid
- For Each New MBBS Seat: ₹1.2 crores
- For Each Seat:
- NE/Special States: 90% funding by Centre
- Others: 60% funding by Centre
