XLRI Jamshedpur makes the XAT syllabus, which is the same as other MBA entrance exams. Decision Making, Verbal and Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge are all on the XAT syllabus for 2023. To pass the XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) 2023, candidates must study all of the topics in these four subjects.

On January 8, 2023, the XAT exam 2023 will last 190 minutes, and the questions will be split into two parts:

Part 1: Verbal and logical skills, making decisions, math skills, and interpreting data (Sectional time limit is 165 minutes)

Part 2: General Knowledge and Writing an Essay (Sectional time limit is 25 minutes)

XAT Test Plan: General Information (GK)

For the XAT test in 2023, there are no changes to the GK curriculum.
In the General Knowledge part of the XAT 2023, there will be 25 questions.
In the GK section, each question is worth one mark, and there are no negative marks.

Frequently Asked Questions About XAT 2023 Syllabus

Q. Where can I find materials to help me study for the XAT Decision Making syllabus?

Ans. The Decision Making section is unique to XAT, so there isn’t a lot of study material for it. The best way to prepare for it is to look at XAT questions from previous years. Candidates can look at XAT question papers from previous years to get a feel for the types and level of difficulty of the Decision Making questions.

Q. Is the XAT harder than the CAT?

Ans. Both the XAT and the CAT are harder than other MBA entrance tests. But it depends on the candidate to say which one is harder. To decide between the XAT and the CAT, you should look at the colleges that accept scores from both exams.

Q. How much does the GK section of the XAT count?

Ans. There will be 25 questions in the GK section, and each one is worth one point. Candidates are told to do this section last, and they should only spend about 15 minutes on it. GK also has a 15-minute time limit for its section.

Q. What is the best book for the math part of the XAT?

Ans. For the Quantitative Aptitude section of the XAT exam, books by Arun Sharma and Sarvesh K Verma are highly recommended because they explain concepts in detail and have many sample questions.

Q. How many questions will the XAT in 2023 have?

Ans. The XAT 2023 will have about 100 questions. All of them will be in MCQ form. There will be 26 questions on Verbal Ability, 21 questions on Decision Making, 28 questions on Quantitative Ability, and 25 questions on General Knowledge.

Q. Can I use CAT study materials to get ready for the XAT?

Ans. Yes, you can use the same study materials to prepare for both the XAT and the CAT because their course plans are the same. Only the Decision-Making section of the XAT will require separate studying since it is not on the CAT syllabus.

Q. Does the XAT offer real practice tests?

Ans. Yes, there are official mock tests for the XAT. The official XAT practice test comes out after the XAT admit cards are sent out, and only registered candidates can take it.

Q. Does the XAT have negative marks?

Ans. Yes, the XAT has a penalty of -0.25 points. There is no penalty for not answering a question, but if you don’t answer eight questions in a row, 0.10 points will be taken away. So, the people taking the XAT exam must be very careful about which questions they choose to answer.

Q. How long will it take me to finish the XAT course?

Ans. Preparing for the XAT should take between six and nine months, but if you’ve already studied for the CAT, you’ll only need to work on Decision Making and General Knowledge. At least three months are needed to finish the XAT syllabus.

Q. How long does the XAT test last?

Ans. The XAT test is three hours and ten minutes long. There is a time limit for each part of the test. Part 1, which includes DM, QADI, and Verbal Ability, is given 165 minutes. Part 2, which includes GK and Essay Writing, is given 25 minutes. During the test, you are not allowed to take a break.

Q. Are the XAT reading comprehension passages hard?

Ans. Yes, the Reading Comprehension passages on the XAT exam are harder than those on other MBA entrance exams. However, if a candidate regularly reads English newspapers and magazines, they should be able to do well in Reading Comprehension passages.
