XAT cutoffs for 2023: XLRI shortlist and selection process
The XAT score, Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview are used by the XLRI Jamshedpur admissions committee to decide who gets into its PGDM programs (PI). For this reason, the institute sets minimum cut-off scores for HRM and BM programs by category. Those who score high enough on the XAT(Xavier Aptitude Test) must fill out an online application form on the institute’s website. The institute then chooses some of the applicants to move on to the GD/PI round.
In February, this GD/PI round is held in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Jamshedpur. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the GD/PI round has been done online since the year 2020. After this tough round of personality testing, only a few of the candidates are chosen to be offered admission. Offers of admission are sent to those who have been chosen by email in May.

Frequently Asked Questions About XAT Cutoff 2023
Q. What does XAT stop at?
Ans. The XAT cut-off percentiles are the minimum number of points you need to get on the test to be eligible for the GD-PI round at XLRI. It means that the only people who can get into XLRI are those who get scores above the cutoff for that year. But the final choice will depend on a number of other things.
Q. Will I still be able to get into XLRI even if I don’t get the minimum XAT score?
Ans. No. To be eligible for XLRI admission, you must at least meet the XAT cut-off. Those who don’t get at least the minimum score on the XAT are not chosen for the group discussion and personal interview.
Q. What is the process for getting into XLRI?
Ans. The XLRI admissions process includes a candidate’s XAT or GMAT score, a group discussion, a personal interview, and a final choice based on certain criteria.
Q. How can an Indian candidate use the XAT to apply to XLRI? What courses can they apply for?
Ans. Indians can apply to all XLRI programs through the XAT, but for the General Management Program, they can use either the XAT or the GMAT. Candidates in the foreign category, on the other hand, can use GMAT to apply for any or more than one course.
Q. When will XAT stop being used?
Ans. The cutoff for the XAT is announced a day or two after the XAT results are released in February. The XAT cut-offs are posted in PDF format on the official website of the test.
Q. Does the XAT cutoff for the Business Management program differ from the cutoff for the Human Resource program?
Ans. Yes, the XAT cut-off scores for getting into different courses are different. The evaluation is based on a number of things, such as academic background, the courses offered by the institute, and so on.
Q. Does the XAT cut-off by XLRI apply to all MBA schools that accept the XAT?
Ans. No, the MBA colleges that accept XAT scores for admission set their own cutoffs for choosing students. The cut-offs for XLRI are only good for getting into that school.
Q. What are the rules for getting into XLRI, Jamshedpur?
Ans. XLRI, Jamshedpur’s selection process includes a group discussion and a personal interview. Candidates are chosen for these based on their XAT scores. In February, the selection process takes place.
Q. Do colleges also look at the sectional cut-offs of the XAT when deciding who to let in?
Ans. No, most colleges don’t do that. Instead, they use the overall XAT percentile to decide who to admit. But candidates must also try to meet sectional cut-offs on the exam in order to avoid a bad situation when they are admitted.
Q. How many XAT scores do you need to get into XLRI, Jamshedpur this year?
Ans. The cutoff for XLRI, Jamshedpur in 2022 was between the 87th and 93rd percentile, which is the same as the last two years. The XAT cutoff for 2023 will depend on how hard the questions are. If the paper is hard, the cutoff will be lower, and vice versa.
