JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria 1 - JEE Main 2024 Performance

• Candidates must rank in the top 2,50,000 (including reserved categories) in JEE Main 2024 Paper 1.
• In the case of tied ranks/scores, the total number of candidates may be somewhat more than 2,50,000.
• The following percentages of candidates will be shortlisted: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for all.

Advanced JEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria 2 - Maximum Age

Candidates must have been born between October 1, 1998 and October 1, 1999. SC, ST, and PWD applicants receive a five-year relaxation; these candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.

A candidate can take JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in a row.

JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria 4 - Class XII Passing Year

Candidates must have initially taken the class XII (or equivalent) test in either 2021 or 2024, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as obligatory subjects.

JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria 5 - Admission to IITs Earlier

• A candidate who has previously been admitted to an IIT/ISM (regardless of whether they proceeded in the program) OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting center is ineligible to apply.
• Candidates whose admission to IIT was canceled after they enrolled are ineligible.

Examination equivalent to Class 12 

•  Class XII from a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• Final test or two-year course at the National Defence Academy's Joint Services Wing
• The National Institute of Open Schooling administers a senior school test with a minimum of five topics.
• Any AIU-accredited school, board, or institution in India or overseas. H.S.C. vocational examination
• A three-year diploma approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or a State Board of Technical Education
• Advanced (A) level General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka)
• Cambridge University High School Certificate Exam or International Baccalaureate Diploma from the International Baccalaureate Office in Geneva.

Board Examination Results in Class XII (Or Equivalent)

For admission to IITs, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Must have received at least 75% in the class 12 (or equivalent) board test. The aggregate marks for SC, ST, and PwD candidates in the Class XII Board examination in 2024 or 2021 should be at least 65% with Physics, Chemistry, and Math as compulsory subjects.
• Must have scored in the top 20% of their respective class 12 (or equivalent) board exams in 2024 or 2021, with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as obligatory subjects. 

If a Board assigns letter grades without a percentage equivalent, the candidate must show a certificate from the Board indicating the corresponding marks against the grades. The aggregate marks and cut-off marks for meeting the top 20%ile requirements will be calculated using the marks earned in the following five subjects:

• Mathematics
• A language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, the highest-scoring language will be considered)

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2024 for Foreign Nationals

Foreign Nationals for JEE Advanced will be candidates who fit into the following categories:

• Non-Indian citizens (by birth or naturalization)
• Non-OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) and Non-PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) are two categories of people.
• Candidates whose parents are not Indian citizens and do not qualify for OCI/PIO status at the time of JEE Advanced 2024 registration.

Foreign National Seats

Foreign national seats are supernumerary, with a ceiling of 10% of the total number of seats in each course.

Foreign National Reservation

Foreign nationals are not eligible for reservations under the OBC-NCL, GEN-EWS, SC, ST, and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) categories specified by the Government of India.
