B.Tech in Biotechnology Entrance Tests

There are various Entrance tests conducted in order to help students get admission in B.Tech.

JEE Main

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the national engineering entrance exam JEE Main in an effort to help engineering students gain admission to some of the most esteemed universities in the nation, including the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), the National Institute of Technology (NIT), and the Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI).

The JEE Main exam is given twice a year in January and April. The JEE Advanced will only take into account the better of the two marks.

Both MCQs and numerical questions are present on the test. The test is given in an online mode, and the students have 3 hours to finish the paper. The essay covers topics in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

JEE Advanced

For those candidates who pass JEE Main and place in the top 2,50,000, JEE Advanced is held. This test is regarded as one of the hardest and most demanding exams in the nation. It only takes place once a year. Exams are given in CBT (computer-based test) format.

The three exams that students are required to take—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—each have a 3-hour time restriction. Every incorrect response results in a negative mark of one, while every correct response earns three.

MHT-CET

The Maharashtra State Government administers the MHT-CET, also known as the Common Entrance Test, every year.[4][5] The Directorate of Technical Education oversees the way it functions. The major focus of this entrance test is the degree programmes offered by the following streams: Engineering and Pharmacy

3 question papers will be used for the MHT CET 2023 test. Mathematics makes up Paper 1, Physics and Chemistry make up Paper 2, while Biology makes up Paper 3. Candidates who are interested in the Engineering programme should take Papers 1 and 2. Those interested in pharmacy programmes should show up for Papers 2 and 3.

WBJEE

West Bengal conducts the WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) as a requirement for admission to both public and private engineering institutes. WBJEE is an optical mark recognition (OMR)-based test that is administered offline.

KCET

Karnataka conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) to applicants seeking admission to professional programmes like B.E. and B.Tech at engineering institutes. Each of the three papers—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—is worth 60 points. There is a 1-hour, 20-minute time restriction. The KCET does not use negative marking. Every right response earns one mark.

EAMCET

Both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh hold the EAMCET Engineering, Agricultural, and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) for admission to various engineering, medical, and agricultural institutes around the state.

The test lasts three hours and is given in an online format. A total of 160 questions from the physics, maths and chemistry exams should be covered by students. There is no negative marking and students are awarded 1 mark for every right answer.

BITSAT

The famous Birla Institute of Technology administers the BITSAT, or Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test. The student must pass an admission test in order to be admitted to the BITS campuses in Goa, Hyderabad, and Pilani.

The test is an online one, and the students have three hours to respond to the questions. The test has a 450-point maximum and is administered in English. The question paper is divided into divisions that include Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics/Biology.

Students receive 3 marks for correct responses, while a 1 mark is subtracted for each incorrect response.

Taking entrance exams: How to prepare? Tips for Btech entrance exams;

  • Programme Overview – Browse through the required reading for the test before beginning your entrance exam preparation. Set up all of your study materials and practise papers.
  • Keeping track of time – Time management requires practise, and students preparing for entrance exams need to focus on this skill even more. Since the duration of the test and the number of questions that must be attempted within a set amount of time are crucial, taking tests is also required for time management.
  • Mock tests – Exams are challenging and put you under a lot of strain, even if you study hard and thoroughly. Students frequently experience panic and anxiety in testing environments. However, it’s crucial to experience giving several mock exams in similar settings if you want to reduce this tension. It will assist you in getting over your fear of taking entrance tests.
  • Practice Sample Paper – Indeed, there is no certainty in the sample paper because the board may change its mind and modify the test structure. However, solving these papers is crucial since it offers you a sense of the problems to expect and the time required to answer them.
  • Try to solve engineering sample papers from reputable colleges from the previous year.
  • Clear concepts, leave no doubt unsolved – It is crucial to keep in mind all of the basic ideas for each subject when preparing for the B.Tech entrance exam. Make an effort to clear up any and all doubts you may have.
