New Delhi – Now, UGC’s amended statutes state the minimum eligibility requirements for admission to undergraduate programs within the UG & PG Degree Regulations 2025. The changes intend to foster a deeper scope and inclusivity in the higher education framework space accelerated by NEP 2020 (NEP 2020).

Prerequisites for Undergraduate Admissions in 2025
As per UGC official announcement:
- Learners having completed Level 4 education as defined in the National Schooling Standards.
- Candidates who have taken Class 12 or its equivalent through conventional, open schooling, or its alternative also qualifies.
are all permitted to seek admission for undergraduate degree award programs in Indian accredited tertiary education institutions (universities or colleges).
This applies to all streams and boards, which is advantageous for students from the NIOS, state boards, and international boards.
