All students enrolled to the post-graduate studies (PGP & PGP-FABM) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad are eligible for the IIMA Special Need Based Scholarships. Students must have a gross yearly family income of less than Rs.15,00,000 in the preceding fiscal year to be eligible for this award. However, eligibility is conditional on giving documentation of family income, the amount of college debt taken, and the candidate's previous wages, among other things. 

In the event of marriage, family income comprises the combined wages of the parent(s)/guardian(s) and the spouse, if appropriate. The income before taxes will be considered. IIM-A will determine the amount of financial aid required for each application by examining the applicant's economic situation using factors such as movable and immovable family assets, the number of dependents relying on the family income, and any other criteria deemed necessary by the institution. 

1. SC/ST Scholarships: All SC/ST students in the postgraduate programs are awarded Rs.150 per month for 10 months. 

2. IIMA Exit Scholarships: 

• IIMA graduates who want to start their own businesses may apply for scholarships. To encourage graduating students to become entrepreneurs, the Institute has decided to launch a scheme that would provide a monthly stipend of Rs.30,000/- to two students from each batch for a maximum of three consecutive years. The system became live with the 2014-16 batch. Applicants must have business ideas and the option to decline placement. 
• Scholarships are available to IIMA graduates who join a "Not-for-Profit" organization. To encourage students to participate in non-governmental organizations, two students from each batch will get financial support for up to three years to help them pay off a portion of the bank loans they took out to study at IIMA. The system will be implemented beginning with the 2015-17 graduating class. Each year, the amount of support available to each student might vary between Rs.3 and 4 lakhs. 
• Assistance ships for students who graduate from IIMA and pursue doctoral studies Two candidates will be offered this fellowship for a maximum of three years to encourage them to pursue PhD studies in India or abroad. It will be adopted beginning with the 2015-17 graduating class. The scholarship amount might vary between Rs.3 and 4 lakhs per year per student.
