ATMA Counselling 2023

After the results of the ATMA have been revealed, the participating institutes that will accept ATMA scores will hold counselling sessions for prospective students. ATMA does not have a centralised mechanism for providing counselling.

The results of the ATMA exam for the February session are expected to be released in the first week of March 2023. Candidates whose scores on the ATMA exam are high enough to satisfy the minimum qualifying threshold will be invited to participate in the final selection rounds.

The ATMA exam 2023 will have its counselling rounds distributed over a number of different locations. Candidates will be able to choose their centre when they are filling out the registration form for participating institutes following the announcement of the results and the minimum qualifying score.

The ATMA Counselling 2023 Procedure

The ATMA counselling procedure consists of three phases, namely the Group Discussion (GD), the Personal Interview (PI), and the Written Ability Test (WAT). These three rounds are detailed in more detail below:

 ATMA Counselling 2023

1. Group Discussion (GD) – Candidates who have met the cutoff criterion will be contacted by several institutes to participate in a round of Group Discussion. They will first be broken up into smaller groups, and then each of those groups will be given a specific topic to discuss. The candidates will be evaluated on a variety of criteria, including their ability to negotiate, their managerial skills, their communication skills, their leadership abilities, their personality, and so on.

2. Written Ability Test (WAT) – Applicants will be asked to take a WAT (Written Ability Test) and compose a brief essay on any general topic that will be assigned to them by the panel of judges. In addition, there may be a round of questions and answers of a more subjective kind pertaining to the topic(s) in question. The candidates will have their linguistic abilities, such as vocabulary and grammar skills, as well as their expressiveness, evaluated.

3. Personal Interview (PI) – After that, candidates will be required to show up for an interview with a panel of experts drawn from various sectors or academic institutions. During the PI round, we will concentrate on:

  • General Awareness
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Academics as well as candidate-specific fields of interest
  • Communication skill
  • General personality characteristics
  • Confidence
