Previously, there were multiple National Level, State Level and Institutional Level Entrance Exams to allow admission to various Medical Colleges across the country. To fill the MBBS slots, the government introduced a single medical entrance exam National Emblem cum Entrance Test (NEET). Since 2013, the exam has been successful. The NEET2020 official notification states that the following are the general eligibility criteria for NEET:
