The most familiar question that arises in students’ minds while preparing to crack NEET-UG is how many marks they need to score in the NEET exam to get admission to MBBS. Because NEET exam scores are the basis and will conclude either one will get admission in a Government medical college or private medical college. As far as NEET-UG 2022 Exam Date has pertained, it will be conducted on July 17, 2022 (Sunday) in offline mode through pen and paper and NEET UG 2022 results will be announced by mid of August 2022. But for getting admission into top government medical colleges one has to face tough competition and should score at least 600+ marks.

Minimum Marks Required in NEET to get a Government College MBBS for General Category:-

  • According to recent trends, General category students have to get more than 600 marks in the NEET UG exam to get admission to top Government medical colleges in most states.
  • For Private medical colleges, General category students need 50 percentile which is equal to 138 marks for session 2021 and it was 147 in the year 2020.

Minimum Marks Required in NEET to get a Government College MBBS for SC/OBC Category:-

  • SC category students are at least requires to score 40 percentile in the NEET UG exam. So that they can qualify to get admission to top private or government medical colleges in India.

NEET Cut Off:-

  • The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET cutoff is generally of two types,  qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff.

NEET cut off 2022 scores will be determined based on the following factors for MBBS admissions in Government Colleges:-

  • NEET difficulty level

NEET Result 2022:-

  • The NEET 2022 result will be released in form of a scorecard at 
  • Aspirants can download the NTA NEET results by visiting the official website. In order to download NEET 2022 result, aspirants need to enter their NEET roll number, date of birth, and security pin.
  • The result-cum-scorecard of NEET 2022 mentions the name, date of birth, the application number, total as well as subject-wise marks obtained, and NEET All India Rank (AIR).

NEET Counseling 2022:-

  • On the basis of AIR, the exam conducting authority will prepare the NEET merit list 2022 implying the rank-wise names of aspirants who have qualified for the exam. 
  • The merit list will be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of MCC for conducting NEET 2022 counselling for 15% AIQ, seats in deemed/central universities, ESIC, AFMS, and central pool seats.
  • While the remaining 85% of state quota seats in government colleges will be allotted by respective state counseling authorities based on the scores and rank secured in NEET 2022 examination. 
  • The respective state counseling bodies will release NEET state-wise merit list based on the cutoff scores.

12th Percentage Required For NEET 2022:-

The aspirant must have to clear 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects from any recognized board, with at least 50% of the qualifying marks for the General category and 40% for the SC/ST/OBC category. 

NEET 2022 Age Limit:-

For being eligible for the medical entrance NEET 2022, one must be of a minimum of 17 years of age either at the time of admission or else on or before December 31, 2022, to appear for the NEET examination 2022.

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria For 15% AIQ Seats:-

MCC administers the online NEET 2022 counseling. To take part in All India Quota Counseling 2022, aspirants must have to apply for the same online. NEET 2022 Counseling will be done in two rounds.

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria For 85% State Quota Seats:-

85% of seats are reserved for State aspirants, allotted by state counseling. Aspirants must contact the authority to know the respective dates and events. The merit list will be released based on State-based aspirants All India rank. The eligibility for the 85% state quota seats is listed below:

  • Applicants must have completed the 10th and 12th standards from the state.
