IIT Kharagpur PG Scholarship

These scholarships are provided by Institute financing. The Institute will provide merit-based scholarships to all qualifying students of the 4-year B.Tech.(Hons. ), 5-year Dual degree, 5-year B.Arch.(Hons.), and 5-year Integrated M.Sc. degrees, as well as the 4-year BS program, in accordance with the following rules:

Except for students belonging to SC and ST (who are eligible for Post-Matric Scholarship of their respective State Governments), all students admitted to any of the 4-year B.Tech.(Hons.), 5-year Dual Degree, 5-year B.Arch.(Hons.) and 5-year Integrated M.Sc. courses and 4-year BS program, and students who fulfil the conditions hereinafter appearing, are eligible for the Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) scholarship.

These scholarships will be given to no more than 25% of the students admitted to the Undergraduate and Dual Degree programs each year.

The value of these scholarships will be established by the Board of Governors on an ongoing basis.

All MCM scholarship holders will be free from paying the Institute tuition charge. They must, however, pay all other fees as mandated.

• MCM scholarships will be available for all 12 months of the academic year, from July of one year to June of the following year.
• Scholarships for the month of July will be paid in full regardless of the day in July when the Institute reopens after the Summer Vacation, provided the student registers on the specified date. Otherwise, the scholarship will be given on a pro-rata basis for the month of July.

No student will be allowed to hold more than one scholarship at the same time. If an awardee becomes eligible for another scholarship from any other source, he will be able to choose between the two. In this situation, he or she must communicate his or her choice to the Dean of Undergraduate Studies in writing.
