Syllabus: CMAT 2023

The AICTE sets the CMAT Syllabus, which includes five subjects: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. If you want to take the CMAT in 2023, you should study all the important parts of these five subjects.

The NTA added a new part to the CMAT syllabus in 2021. On the suggestion of the AICTE, NTA made Innovation & Entrepreneurship available to MBA students who want to go into this field. Innovation and Entrepreneurship was added to the CMAT as an optional section with 25 questions. Students were given an extra 30 minutes to figure it out. But in 2022, the section on innovation and entrepreneurship became a requirement. Innovation and Entrepreneurship are also on the list of topics for CMAT 2023.

CMAT Syllabus 2023: Section Wise Weightage

Section-wise weightage of subjects included in the CMAT syllabus is equal. CMAT question paper 2023 will consist of 100 MCQs divided equally among all the sections. For every correct attempt, four marks will be awarded and for every incorrect attempt, there will be a deduction of one mark. Given below is the CMAT question paper break-up:

Q: What are the most important parts of the CMAT curriculum?

Ans: Algebra, Time, Speed, Distance, Allegation and Mixtures, Geometry, Graphs, Analytical Reasoning, Linear Arrangements, Number Series, Matrix Arrangements, and Blood Relationship Tests are all important parts of the CMAT. Reading comprehension, grammar, English usage mistakes, para jumbles, etc.

Q: How many questions about general knowledge will be on the CMAT?

Ans: The CMAT will have 20 questions about general knowledge. All of the questions will be multiple choice (MCQ). For each question, you will have four choices from which to choose the right answer. Most of the time, the GK section of the CMAT is the hardest.

Q: How much does each section of the CMAT test matter?

Ans: There are 20 questions in each part of the CMAT. Each question is worth 4 points. So, the total number of points for each section is 80, and the total number of points for the whole CMAT test is 400.

Q: Is there any way to lose points on the CMAT?

Ans: Yes, the CMAT exam has points that can be taken away. For every wrong answer, you will lose one point. But you won’t lose any points for not answering a question. To avoid getting bad marks, candidates must choose their questions carefully.

Ans: The NTA does not put out a document with the CMAT syllabus broken down by subject. CMAT question papers are used to figure out the course outline and topics. Q: How many days do I need to cover the whole CMAT course?

Ans: The candidate must set aside at least three months to finish the CMAT curriculum because they have to study five subjects and many topics. But if they have taken CAT and IIFT, they can finish the CMAT curriculum in one month.

Q: Is the CMAT curriculum the same as the CAT curriculum?

Ans: Yes, the Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, and Verbal Ability sections of CMAT are the same as those of CAT. But, unlike CMAT, CAT doesn’t have sections on General Knowledge Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Q: Which part of the CMAT takes the most time?

Ans: You could say that the Language Comprehension section is long because it has reading comprehension passages. But there is a chance that any other section will be longer.

Q: How many questions do I need to answer well on the CMAT?

Ans: A good CMAT attempt is one in which you answer 20–22 questions correctly in each section 85 percent of the time. This can help you get a good percentile on the test. But candidates should try to answer a greater number of questions.

Q: Can I use CAT books to prepare for the CMAT?

Ans: Yes, people taking the CMAT can use the books recommended for the CAT to study for the test, but they also need to do mock tests and sample questions for the CMAT to get a feel for it.
