Preparation for CMAT 2023

Your plan for studying for the CMAT should include both long-term and short-term goals that you can change as you learn more about the test. The test is like CAT, XAT, and IIFT, so it takes just as much dedication and hard work to do well on it. The CMAT will be given in April 2023, so there is plenty of time to get ready. Also, by that time, you would have taken tests like CAT, XAT, SNAP, NMAT, etc., which will help you pass CMAT. To do this, candidates should first make a plan for how they will study. This plan should include time frames for completing the CMAT syllabus, taking mock tests, and reviewing.

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Innovation and Entrepreneurship are all on the CMAT’s list of topics. The question paper has 100 MCQs, which are questions with more than one right answer. You have three hours to answer them. Innovation and Entrepreneurship was added as an optional part of the CMAT in 2021. In 2022, it became a required part. This section will also have to be done for the CMAT in 2023. For this part of the CMAT, it will help to have a clear understanding of entrepreneurship, start-ups, and business.

How to Study for the CMAT in 2023?

A good plan is the most important thing you can do to prepare for the CMAT. If you want to prepare for the CMAT test and join a coaching institute, you will be well taken care of. But if you want to study on your own for the CMAT 2023 test, start early.

Now that you know the basics of the CMAT syllabus and test format, you need to make a plan for how you will study for the test. A good plan for studying for the CMAT should have a daily schedule, hours that are split up by topic, and time set aside for practising questions and understanding the concepts.

Remember the following:

Candidates must start getting ready for the CMAT at least six months ahead of time.

The test is given every year in March or April, so CMAT preparation must start in September or October.

Get books and other study materials to help you prepare for the CMAT.

Join online study groups and download apps to help you prepare for the MBA entrance exam.

Make a plan for how you will study for the CMAT each month.

Books and other study materials for the CMAT

When candidates join MBA coaching institutes, they are helped to prepare for exams by mentors and experts. These students also get the recommended books and study materials for the CMAT. But candidates who choose to study on their own need to read the right books. One of the best books for the CMAT is The Complete Reference Manual for CMAT, which was written by SK Sinha, S Satyanarayan, and JS Rana. Use this list of the best books to prepare for the CMAT.

Other than CMAT books, CMAT question papers from previous years are the best way to prepare for the test. The real question papers help you get used to how the test is set up and what kinds of questions are asked. But it’s not enough to just answer the questions on the test. You should also do CMAT sample papers and online practise tests. The sample papers show you different kinds of questions, while the online mock tests help you get faster and better.

Tips and a Plan for Preparing for the CMAT in 2023

Join online groups for studying

Since the CMAT is made up of Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness, you may sometimes need help. Sometimes you couldn’t understand a certain idea or figure out how to solve an equation. When this happens, being part of an online study group will help you a lot. You can talk to the other people in the group (mentors and students) and help them figure out what to do. Discuss other topics and ideas, learn tips and tricks for solving hard problems, get help with other things, and support each other as you prepare for the CMAT.

Download apps to help you study for the MBA entrance exam

Today, candidates have an advantage because of how far technology has come. Now that everyone has a smart phone, people no longer use notebooks or classrooms to study for tests. Instead, they use apps on their phones. Use it to your advantage. Get the best apps for preparing for an MBA on your phone. These apps have everything you need, like tutorials, videos, blogs, sample questions, etc. This way of learning has a key advantage. It lets you study from anywhere and at any time. You just need a good way to connect to the internet.

Plan for Getting Ready for the CMAT

Now comes the most important part, which is coming up with a plan for how to prepare for the CMAT. Your plan for the exam should have three parts:

First step: finish the CMAT curriculum

Second step: taking practise tests and sample papers

Third step: Topic-by-topic review

The first step is to finish the CMAT syllabus.

When you study for CMAT sections, you need to know what makes each one different and prepare for it. For example, the Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation section is based on ideas, so when you study for it, you should focus on fully understanding and remembering the ideas and theorems. The Logical Reasoning section, on the other hand, is based on practise, so the more sample questions you do, the better you will do on this section.

Some parts of Verbal Ability, like Grammar and Verbal Reasoning, are based on concepts, while other parts are based on practise (reading comprehensions). General Knowledge is based on your memory, so try to remember GK topics and events.

Note:

Start with the part you find hardest and then move on to the ones you find easier.

Don’t start a new subject until you’ve finished the last one.

Don’t try to learn about more than one thing at once, or you might get confused at the end of the day.

The easiest part to study for is General Knowledge, so do that at the end of this phase.

Second step: Start taking practise tests and sample papers.

The second part of preparing for the CMAT should be about putting the ideas you learned in the first part into practise. Get the CMAT question papers, sample papers, and mock test series from years past. The NTA, which is in charge of running the CMAT, will also give registered candidates an official mock test.

CMAT practise tests and question papers will help you improve your speed and accuracy while giving you a chance to look at how well you are preparing for the test based on its topics and syllabus.

Note:

Don’t start answering sample questions until you’ve gone through the CMAT curriculum.

If you’ve studied for or taken tests like CAT, XAT, IIFT, SNAP, GMAT, etc., then all you need to do to prepare for CMAT is take mock tests.

After each CMAT practise test, you should look at how you did and decide what to do next.

When you take practise tests, your goal should be to get faster and better.

It will help you understand how the test is set up so you can study the right topics.

Try to answer different kinds of questions. This will give you an idea of how hard, easy, tricky, and long questions are.

Third step: Review by Subject

Set aside two weeks to review the course material. Spend more time reviewing the things you’re not good at, but don’t forget about the things you are good at. Don’t be too sure of yourself. Review all the ideas, theorems, formulas, shortcuts, and tricks you need to know to answer questions correctly 100% of the time.

Note:

Don’t start a new chapter in the last two days before the test.

Finish studying a day before the test and give your mind a break for the night.

Don’t do any studying or reviewing the morning of the test.

CMAT Preparation 2023: Tips for the Last Week of Studying

What should you be thinking about most in the days before the CMAT?

During this part of your CMAT preparation, stick to doing practise tests and spend a couple of hours reviewing important ideas and formulas.

It is also time to pay attention to the CMAT section on general knowledge. Start learning facts that don’t change. If you’ve been paying attention to the news, it will take care of the “current events” part.

While you’re going over hard topics, write down the most important points. You can look at these the day before your CMAT test to help you remember.

If you’re not sure about a topic or idea, talk to your mentors or study group about it. Make sure you understand it by doing it at least twice.

Make a note of the types of questions you can answer quickly and correctly on CMAT practise tests. Aim for these kinds of questions on the real test to reduce the chance of getting a bad grade.
