Q. Is the MBBS course fee in private colleges the same as that of the deemed universities for the management quota seats?

Answer. The fee for both private colleges and deemed universities for the management quota seats are usually on the higher note. However, the MBBS course fee in both is not necessarily the same.

Q. Do all the private colleges have Government Quota seats with subsidized fees?

Answer. Most of the private colleges in the country are required to have a percentage of their seats reserved for the government quota. The MBBS course fee for such seats is usually subsidized. However, certain private institutions do not have the provision the government quota seats.

Q. Are all the students taking admitted to the Government medical colleges required to sign a bond with the concerned State Government?

Answer. Yes, usually all the students taking admission in government medical colleges are required to sign a bond of service failing which they would be required to pay the bond amount to the respective state government. The bond amount and duration vary from state to state. However, states like Himachal Pradesh have the provision of students taking admission without the bond for which the MBBS course fee is not subsidized and is much higher

Q. What are the various fee to be paid at the time of registration?

Answer. For deemed universities, the registration fees is Rs. 2000, while the security fees will be Rs. 2,00,000. For 15% All India Quota, central universities, AFMC and ESIC the non-refundable registration fees is Rs. 1000 for UR and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/OBC candidates, while refundable security fees is Rs. 10,000 for general and Rs. 5,000 for reserved category.

Q. When did MBBS classes start in 2022?

Answer. An official announcement by the National Medical Commission (NMC) states that the academic session for MBBS will begin in February 2022 and conclude in June 2027, including the compulsory internship.

Q. How many years should we pay fees for MBBS?

Answer. No, you have to pay for only your course duration. i.e. 4.5 years.

Q. What is the total cost of studying MBBS?

Answer. The MBBS course fee may vary from government, private and deemed universities. The average MBBS fee for government medical colleges in India ranges from INR 20,000 to INR 7.5 lakh, whereas the MBBS fee for private colleges can range from INR 20 lakh to more than INR 1 Cr.

Q. Which year of MBBS is difficult?

Answer. In my experience, the first year was the toughest. The final year was tough too but nothing can match the sheer fright & inexperience in part completion exams and prof exams. I failed in the 2nd and 3rd year once each and passed the first and final year in one go.

Q. Why is the MBBS fee so high?

Answer. Generally, the MBBS in India especially in private medical colleges which are owned by the Indian politicians is very expensive. The main reason is the donation or the capitation fees to get the admission to Indian private medical colleges

Q. How many hours do MBBS students study?

Answer. Ideally, an MBBS student must spend 6 hours a day studying in the first year, to ace the tests. There are five subjects but the amount of time to be dedicated per subject depends on your proficiency or knowledge in each.
