CUET Exam 2023 Overview

About National Testing Agency

The Government of India has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions, with a mission to improve equity and quality in education by decentralizing testing.

NTA has developed a framework that encourages teaching (by instructors), learning (by students), and evaluation (by parents and institutions). NTA is a firm believer in assessment quality, efficiency, effectiveness, equality, and security. To put these ideals into action, NTA is continuously in contact with its stakeholders, who include students, parents, instructors, specialists, and partner institutions.

Frequently Asked Questions About CUET UG 2023

Q. What does NTA stand for?

Ans. The National Testing Agency also known as NTA. The Ministry of Education, MoE (formerly known as the Ministry of Human Resource Development-MHRD), established it as an independent/autonomous, self-reliant, and self-sustaining premier testing organization.

Q. What is CUET (UG) 2023?

Ans. Common University Entrance Exam (UG) 2023 is abbreviated as CUET (UG) 2023. CUET (UG) – 2023 will provide students a single window admission option to any of the Central Universities (CUs) and other participating institutions (State Universities, Autonomous Institutions, Private Universities, and Deemed Universities) throughout the nation for the academic year 2023-24. CUET (UG) – 2023 will give a single platform and equitable possibilities to candidates throughout the nation, particularly those from rural and other distant locations, as well as aid in the establishment of improved relationships with universities. It is a single entrance test for admission to Central Universities and other participating universities (State Universities, Autonomous Institutions, Private Universities, and Deemed Universities), which will admit candidates to their UG courses for the academic year 2023-24 based on their NTA Score.

Q. How will The Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) – 2023 handle the variety of students throughout the country?

Ans. The Common University Entrance Exam (UG) – 2023 would give a single platform and equitable opportunity throughout the nation, particularly for students from rural and metropolitan regions, as well as candidates from the three National Boards, CBSE, ICSE, and NIOS. Students in CUET (UG) – 2023 have a variety of alternatives, including 27 disciplines, 33 languages, and a general test. Students may choose the Subject/Language/General Test of their choosing, based on the requirements of the university to which they are applying. Students may also choose any of the 13 languages listed as the medium of their exam.

Q. I got 99% in Class 12 but was denied admission to the preferred institution. How would this test be beneficial?

Ans. Candidates used to complain that even if they earned 99% in Class 12, they couldn’t get into the universities of their choice. This was mostly due to the varying typology of questions and scoring patterns throughout the country’s Boards.

With the launch of CUET (UG) – 2023, these things will now be standardized. The CUET (UG) – 2023 question paper format will be objective, including Multiple Choice Questions, and so assessment will be objective. As a result, subjectivity in the grading of descriptive type questions in conventional Class 12 examinations of various Boards would not hinder students’ entrance to the University of their choosing.

Q. When will the CUET 2023 Cut off be made publicly available?

Ans. Upon the announcement of the results, the participating institutions will disclose the CUET 2023 cut off. The cut off refers to the minimal number of marks or score that an applicant must have in order to be considered for admission to that institution.

Q. Can my Class 12 Board results be considered for CUET 2023 university applications?

Ans. No, CUET 2023 admission will be purely based on CUET UG 2023 results in different subjects/languages/general examinations. Nevertheless, under the minimal qualifying standards of individual Universities, the proportion of subject combinations as per the course/program is taken into consideration.

Q. How does the CUET 2023 Cut Off become determined?

Ans. The CUET 2023 Cut Off will be calculated based on the total number of applicants who took the CUET 2023 test, the number of seats available via CUET 2023, the difficulty level of the CUET exam, and the candidate’s performance in the exam.
