LPU Jalandhar Scholarship Details

Lovely Professional University strongly believes in the fact that monetary constraints should not be an obstacle for a student to have access to quality education. So, the University extends Scholarship Scheme to students on various parameters. Scholarship can be availed in all the Programmes of the University, ranging from Diploma to Ph.D. Students have been awarded a scholarship worth INR 100+ crores in the last year only. Scholarships are awarded to candidates based on their performance on any of the following categories:

• Eligibility Qualification The scholarship will also be offered on the basis of Eligibility qualification.
• Certain National Level Tests (like JEE (Mains), NEET, UCEED, CAT, MAT, GATE, GPAT, etc.
• LPU’s Entrance and Scholarship Test: LPUNEST. Scholarship for a specific Program depends on Performance in LPUNEST. There are three brackets:

• Eligibility Qualification The scholarship will also be offered on the basis of Eligibility qualification.
• LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category II cut-off
• LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category III cut-off.
• Scholarship applicable for all programmes will be as per the following table:

LPU defines different phases of admissions depending on the time an applicant registers himself/herself with the University. The Scholarship as mentioned in the above table is for the first phase of admission. A subsequent phase of admission may be defined as per the availability of seats, where the scholarship will be reduced.

Note: Scholarship Percentage for Hons. / Integrated Programs will be the same as the corresponding regular program.

On the basis of Performance in LPUNEST (Ph.D.)

The categories of scholarship are based upon performance in LPUNEST (Ph.D.). The cut-off for each category will be announced along with the result of the respective schedule. The scholarship details are as per the following table:

Note: Applicant seeking test (LPUNEST (Ph.D.)) exemption on basis of, UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) examination/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE/ GPAT/ ICAR (NET), Teacher Fellowship holder or passed M.Phil. Programme (in Regular mode only) may appear for test LPUNEST (Ph.D.) in order to avail of the scholarship as mentioned above. The result of the scholarship for PhD applicants will be declared along with the Ph.D. Interview results. Scholarships upto 90% of program fee are offered to research associates in centrally funded labs, Professionals working in Industry/Corporate/Teaching and candidates with various research achievements.

• Performance in Sports, Cultural, R&D, Co-curricular, Social Service and Bravery Awards
• Special Scholarships and/or Fee Concessions

• Defence and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel and their dependants
• Toppers of Education Board
• Scholarship for Orphan Applicants
• Scholarship for Person with Certain Disability

Note: Scholarship brackets and/or Phases are not applicable for special scholarship and /or fee concession.

Scholarship Brackets: For each category, there exists three brackets of Scholarship (Bracket 1, 2 and 3) are defined. Each bracket has its own respective criteria that need to be met for availing of the applicable scholarship. Therefore, the students meeting the requirement of Bracket- 1 gets the highest Scholarship and those in Bracket – 2 or 3 get a relatively lesser scholarship.

Scholarship Phases: Admissions in LPU are done in different Phases, which are bifurcations of the admission time period. The amount of Scholarship also depends on the Phase in which the candidate takes admission to the University. (Phase – I) starts as early as January 2021 and continues till the end of April 2021. The subsequent phases (Phase-II, III, IV, V) are conducted only if the seats in the concerned Programme remain vacant. The amount of Scholarship reduces with each passing phase and no scholarship is offered in Phase – V (if conducted).
