About

Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM), Pune was established in the year 1999. BIMM, Pune is a constituent institute of Sri Balaji University, Pune. It is a private institute. The Balaji Institute of Modern Management is the oldest institute of the other four management institutes of the university; the other three institutes are the Balaji Institute of Telecom Management (BITM), Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB) and Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resources Development (BIMHRD). The total number of faculty members there on the campus is 43 and the total student enrollments are 717 students.

BIMM Pune offers AICTE permitted two-year full-time M.BA programmes. Courses offered at BIMM include M.B.A in Marketing, IT and Marketing, PM and HRD. A large hostel, gym and a swimming pool, sports and many other facilities are available there on the campus. Scholarship and placement opportunities are also provided to the students.

 The placements of our senior batch were excellent. There was 100% placement from the college for the batch 2015-17. The highest package was around 15 lacs PA and the average salary was around 7 lacs pa. There were various top companies like Deloitte, Google, BD, CS, etc. that recruited students from all specializations.

The infrastructure is amazing. The campus is cute and cozy. There is an BIMM centre for various recreational purposes. The classrooms are big and accommodate 60 students each easily. The library could be better with more books. The medical facilities are excellent as there is an SCHC centre. There is ample space outside the campus for sports activities. The hostel rooms are spacious and all amenities are provided with. The Wi-Fi in the campus could improve.

The faculty is top notch. The visiting faculty is the strength of the college with industry legends sharing their own personal experiences. They are very helpful and assist the students in honing their skills. All teaching methods like blackboard, presentations,videos, group discussions, MOOC, etc. are used by the faculty. The student to faculty ratio is 15 to 1. The curriculum is reviewed by the director every semester with the help of students and is planned meticulously.

Well, BIMM Pune is one of the reputed and demanding colleges in Pune. BIMM Pune is a college that works on the overall growth of the student. It follows the rule of Determination, Dedication, and Discipline. BIMM has 100% placement records, better ROI, and strict discipline. This college provides all the opportunities, but a student should also give 100 % with all dedication towards studies. A student should be ambitious, focused full of dedication. Quality of teaching is good. The college also has the facility of sports, a reading room, a yoga room, and a gym.

When it comes to BIMM (or any of the 4 SBS institute) the focus would be 30–35% on studies and the majority part in training you to be a corporate citizen. Don't get an impression the subjects and exams would be easy, they would be as tough, maybe tougher but the conditions in which you will be giving the exam it would make them seem easier. The average package received by a Balajian is around 6 LPA,that would give you a 1 year period on your ROI. Which is pretty good if you ask me? And combined placements end up being 100% of the strength of all 4 SBS institutes.

The placements are combined and so are the exams for all the 4 institutes. At the end everything comes under the umbrella of Sri Balaji Society. A student needs to complete with almost 60 to 70 students (avg) to get placed in the respective company. A students needs to maintain a min attendance percentage and other requisites to be able to qualify for company recruitment drives. At the end, everything comes down to either luck or competency (don’t expect HR to gauge a student’s credibility based on a sheet of resume and some petty questions).

A student finally gets their respective branded certificates based on the college and the specialization and rest everything is common including faculties which are allotted batch wise students through 4 semesters by the academic department.

College students can experience here best education in the city as the college is the best MBA Colleges in Maharashtra.

The entire selection process for the MBA program is pretty lengthy. I gave MAH-CET, which was pretty basic for me. Later, I was invited to the interview round. When I look back, I feel lucky that I was able to crack the interview round. I opted for this particular institute since it is closer to my home and I was able to give sufficient time to my home and college. Our college has strong corporate tie-ups with companies from a diverse background. Some of these companies were like Adani, Aditya Birla, Asian Paints, Amazon, Airtel payments, etc. Most of the students got a salary package in the range of 25-50k per month.  While some even secured a job with a salary of around 75k per month.

Balaji Institute of Modern Management of Sri Balaji University or Balaji Institute of Telecom and Management both are the part of the same university along with Balaji Institute of International Business and Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resource Development has a centralised placement comprising of all 4 instutes and the number of companies coming in are more than 250 where the highest placement has gone upto 18.5 lakhs and an average of 6.75 lakhs. The placements records have been 100 percent and the records have been going higher every year.

BIMM is one of the 4 sister colleges (BIMM, BIMHRD, BITM and BIIB). The popularity of these colleges is also is in the same order BIMM> BIMHRD> BITM > BIIB. The seats of the colleges also fill in the same order. Thus, “in most cases”, the students with better academic records opt for the colleges in the same order BIMM> BIMHRD> BITM > BIIB – which also is a key factor of the placements. However, it is to be noted that, most companies come for placement considering SBS as whole, and not for particular college. But the academic record background is one of the decider during placements. Thus, BIMM has better placement records. But it’s fairly equivalent to BITM and BIMHRD.

The ranking which the college boasts about is now based on SBS as whole, (earlier the ranking was done for individual colleges). Refer the website for better insight.

Leave aside the rankings and placement records, all 4 colleges have same/similar set of faculty members, same/ similar infrastructure and overall same exposure. It is up to the student how he grooms himself in these 2 years.

You’ll get a different experience altogether- which no other college can provide. The definition of “different” is as follows:

• The founder and President of SBS- Bala sir- comes from an Army background. He believes in 3 fundamental principles, AKA 3Ds: Discipline, Dedication and Determination (you will hear this a lot in your 2 year tenure if you join SBS).
• These 3Ds literally define your professional career, thus Bala sir is obsessed with these and is very strict.
• There’s 365 working day culture.
• You need to be very punctual (college door closes sharp at 8:30AM)
• You need to maintain 90% + attendance (to be eligible for campus placements)
• There’s attendance before every lecture, you have be disciplined (there’s a red list and a black list- which disqualifies you to attend classes/ campus placements).

SBS Hostel Experience:

• Residing in college hostel is an experience in itself: 6.30AM- there’s Gayatri Mantra palying in each cluster speakers.
• Breakfast is compulsory (very good food).
• Electricity in hostel is cutoff from 10am-12.30pm and 2.30pm to 4pm- which forces you to attend classes rather than resting at your room.
• 9PM sharp- hostel gate is closed (and you’re not permitted to enter the hostel post 9PM)
• You need to maintain 90% + attendance (to be eligible for campus placements)
• There’s attendance before every lecture, you have be disciplined (there’s a red list and a black list- which disqualifies you to attend classes/ campus placements).

SBS Infrastructure and other Experiences:

• The infra is great. You have a classic 1000 seater auditorium (in BIMM and BITM)- where you get to attend a lot of (REALLY A LOT) guest lecturers.
• There’s a class indoor swimming pool and a Gym. The society has 2 mess/canteen which serves pocket friendly good and hygienic food.
• Then in summer internship, you also have to do a corporate branding of your college (Which now I think is done twice a year)- again a great experience.
• Drishti- The annual cultural festival- where the colleges leaves no expense spared. Al co-curricular/ extra-curricular skills exposed. No explanation needed.
• Diwali and other Festivals- all festivals are celebrated and you never get time to miss your family. The SBS becomes your family eventually.
• At the end of 2 years, the friendship you develop with your classmates- is something only a Balajian can understand- which makes all the struggle and overall experience worth it.

Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM) Pune MBA Admission 2022-2024

Balaji Institute of Modern Management, Pune offer admission to various M.B.A programmes in different branches. BIMM Pune admission is offered based on the merit of the entrance examination. Before BIMM Pune admission, candidates must ensure that they meet the required eligibility criteria. For the Balaji Institute of Modern Management admission process, candidates have to secure a valid score in CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT or MAH MBA CET. Further, candidates have to appear and qualify the group discussion by experts followed by a personal interview. Group discussions will last between 30-45 minutes for every group. Role-play, case studies, extempore speech, and GD are all examples of this. The GD procedure will be given 35% of the weightage in the merit list. This is a round of elimination. BIMM Pune facilities and infrastructure include a library that has a huge collection of books, journals, educational audio and video materials, journals back issues and magazines comprise international and national editions. On the campus, there are separate hostels for both boys and girls. Facilities such as drinking water coolers, lockable steel almirah and in-room furniture are provided to the students.  The hostel has a gymnasium and a swimming pool. A doctor is present in the hostel premises for providing basic first aid and for treating minor and miscellaneous ailments.
