MBA entrance exams are common aptitude tests that assess the students’ logical, analytical, and critical reasoning abilities along with their command of the English language and knowledge of current affairs. These exams help MBA institutes in judging the most satisfactory candidates for their MBA/PGDM programs. Around 3,700 management institutes are there in India. The top MBA entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, SNAP, and CMAT are conducted between the months of December and January. Exams conducted by private MBA institutes including, TISSNET, IRMASAT, IBSAT and KIITEE MBA are held in December and January. The state-level MBA entrance exams such as MAH-CET, TANCET, TSICET, APICET, and Karnataka PGCET are conducted from March to August.
In the year 2020, the schedules of many MBA entrance exams changed in 2021 too and dates were revised due to the Coronavirus pandemic and consequent partial lockdown. Many state-level MBA exams such as OJEE, MAH CET, Karnataka PGCET, etc. were conducted in September. In 2022 however, the exams are expected to be held as per schedule.

Q1. What are the eligibility criteria to appear for an MBA entrance exam?
Ans. Those who wish to appear for MBA entrance exam must be graduate from a recognized university with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate. There is five percent relaxation for the candidates belonging to reserved categories. Some exams do not have a minimum mark criterion. Candidates in the final year of their graduation can also apply.

Ans. CAT 2022 will be conducted on November 27. The application process will start in the first week of August. The CAT application fee for the General and OBC candidates is INR 2,200 and for the SC, ST and PWD candidates the application fee is INR 1,100.
