JEE Main Exam Pattern: JEE Mains 2023

The NTA has published the exam pattern for the JEE Main 2023 examination. The JEE Main examination in 2023 will be divided into two parts: Paper 1 will test candidates for BTech/BE, and Paper 2 will test candidates for BArch/BPlan. Paper 2 is further subdivided into two papers, known as Paper 2A and Paper 2B, and these two papers are assessed independently for the BArch and BPlan degrees. The JEE Main test is administered mostly online, with the exception of the drawing component of paper 2A, which is administered in a traditional classroom setting.

The JEE Main exam for BE and BTech programmes will consist of 90 multiple-choice questions and will be worth a total of 300 points. Paper 2A for the Bachelor of Architecture programme will have 82 questions worth a total of 400 points, while the Bachelor of Planning programme will have 105 multiple-choice questions worth a total of 400 points. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages – Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu in addition to Hindi, English, and Gujarati.

Q. Will the JEE Main 2023 examination be given in both the online and the offline formats?

Ans. The JEE Main 2023 exam will exclusively be administered in the online format, with the exception of the drawing section of Paper 2A (BArch), which is administered in the offline format.

Ans. The questions known as “numerical value” are those to which the correct response must be given in the form of an integer.
