Difference Between Computer Science Engineering & Information Technology

It is more often than not the case that students who have just graduated from high school are skeptical of engineering streams or are confused about the different streams of engineering. Although they have totally different degrees, Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) share many similarities. The differences and similarities between these two fields are often overlooked by students who don’t realize the minute details.

Interestingly, while they are two distinct branches, they are also very similar. There are certain areas of overlap between the two courses.

  • In general, studying Computer Science involves understanding how software and hardware operate together to create and modify information systems and processes.
