NMAT Eligibility Criteria

The NMAT eligibility criteria for Exam, as outlined by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council), must be followed by candidates who wish to sit for the exam.

Candidates should be aware that they will only be permitted to take the NMAT exam if they complete the registration process, pay the application price, and wait the required amount of time. The NMAT application form can only be filled out by qualified candidates.

Before submitting an application for the NMAT exam candidates must meet the qualifying requirements. The fundamental requirements for eligibility for the NMAT are that a candidate holds a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50% from any accredited university or institution. And students who are in the final year of their graduation can also apply for the exam. There is no age limit for applying for the NMAT exam by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

  • To apply for the NMAT by GMAC 2022 exam, work experience is not required. However, even if you lack any work experience, you will still be accepted.

NMAT Registration Process

The steps listed below must be followed by candidates in order to complete the NMAT Registration.

  1. Visit the official NMAT Registration page as your first step.
  2. Second Step, if you are a first-time applicant, click the “Register Now” link that is floating on the homepage.
  3. Third Step, the registration window will open. Enter your name, phone number, and email address in the appropriate fields, then click the “Register” button.
  4. Fourth Step, after registering, candidates will be sent their user ID and password to the registered email address and phone number.
  5. The fifth step is to complete the NMAT application form by entering academic information, personal information, work experience, etc. into the newly established candidate account after entering the user ID and password.
  6. Sixth Step, using the “School Preference” area, choose up to five business schools where the NMAT by GMAC can send scores for the selection process.
  7. The seventh step is to upload a scanned copy of a passport-sized photo in the JPG/JPEG or PNG format, with a file size of no more than 1 MB.
  8. The eighth step is to decide whether to take the exam in person or remotely from home online.
  9. The ninth step is to pay the NMAT registration fee with one of the following methods: debit card, credit card, net banking, American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, VISA, or mobile wallet.
  10. Tenth Step, reserve an exam time and download your NMAT admission card.

The admissions process for the MBA programme in colleges affiliated with NMIMS is not handled by GMAC. While applying for the NMAT exam, candidates should be aware of the following information regarding the reservation and NMAT eligibility.

  • Every college that accepts NMAT results for enrollment in MBA/PGDM programmes will establish its own reservation policy and seat allocation guidelines Reserving seats for MBA/PGDM programmes through NMAT by GMAC is subject to the B-specific School’s policies.
  • For the NMAT exam, there are no category-specific qualifying scores. The qualifying marks will be the same for all categories.
  • For those applicants who have successfully met the desired cut-offs and other eligibility requirements of the respective course or courses applied at the time of registration, reservation of seats for widows/wards of armed forces personnel killed/disabled in action or during peacetime and wards of Kashmiri migrants will be applicable.

NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2022: Points to Remember

There are several other crucial considerations to keep in mind when applying for NMAT 2022 in addition to the fundamental eligibility requirements.

  • Candidates from overseas universities need to produce an AIU certificate.
  • Candidates must present a consolidated marks sheet for all the years from the university they have graduated from. Only the original mark sheet must be brought by candidates; any printed or online copies must have their official seals certified by the university’s principal.
  • Candidates enrolled in full-time bachelor programmes who plan to take the final examination will be given provisional admission with aggregate marks of a minimum of 50% and they will have to bring the original mark sheet.
  • There is no specific age limit to register for NMAT 2022 Registration dates are extensible and will be governed by GMAC, the test administrator.
