Scholarships awarded to meritorious and/or needy students are renewable each year of study. To be eligible for scholarship renewal, students must maintain good academic performance, exhibit overall conduct, fulfill the minimum attendance requirements, and achieve a PPI of 7 or higher. Sponsored by the Nirma Institute of Technology Alumni Association (NITAA), the Nirma University Alumni Funded Scholarship is distributed among two meritorious students of every branch who maintain a PPI of 7.5 and are not receiving any other scholarship benefits.
Through Nirma University Interest-free Loan Scholarship, 5% of the total intake of students benefitted. Under this scheme, the university compensates the interest charges on a student loan borrowed for tuition fees. Students with an annual family income of up to Rs. 3.0 lakhs will receive 100% interest compensation whereas students with an annual family income not exceeding 5.0 lakhs will receive 50% interest compensation on the educational loan. The main criterion of this scheme is that the students must have scored at least 70% marks in their Higher Secondary Examination.
The Earn While You Learn Scheme is offered to support needy students in funding their education. Through this program, eligible students with an annual income not exceeding Rs. 10.0 lakhs can work in the university’s assigned sections and earn money to support their studies. Each student is required to complete a maximum of ten hours per week to qualify for earning under this scheme. Apart from that, they shouldn’t be the recipients of any other government or university scholarships.
Undergraduate students are receiving financial relief through the “Needy Students Fund” scheme, designed to assist those facing financial hardship and who do not qualify for other scholarships. To avail of this scheme, students can approach their respective directors.
Nirma University offers a monthly stipend to postgraduate students based on merit. The first 9 GATE-qualified students in M.Tech. are offered Rs.12400 per month and Rs. 5000 is given to the remaining students per month. To avail of this benefit, they have to work for 8 hours per week in the assigned section of the university. Students taking admission into M.Pharm. with GPAT scores are also considered for scholarships.

Nirma University Financial Aid for Doctoral Students Scheme in which Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is given to a full-time Doctoral Scholar for the first 2 years and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) is given for the 3rd year as per the UGC norms. Full-time doctoral scholars are required to dedicate 8 hours per week to academic work in their assigned department.

Students doing research under a mentor are eligible for Nirma University Postdoctoral Fellowship. A monthly fellowship which is equal to the salary of an Assistant Professor at Nirma University is provided and the student will also be eligible for a grant of Rs. 1,00,000 for the purchase of books and other stationery. Applicants who have obtained a Ph.D. degree from a recognized university other than Nirma University and must publish at least 3 high-quality journals are eligible for this fellowship. The maximum age limit for the male candidate is 40 years whereas female candidates can apply up to 35 years of age.
