UP Girl’s suicide case: private schools to remain close due to arrest of teacher and principal

All CBSE (central board of secondary education) and CISCE (council for Indian school certificate examination) affiliated schools will remain closed today, as per the reports provided by media. A protest has been carried against the arrest of the teacher and principal of the private schools. The schools will remain shut on august 8 as a part of the protest, this decision was taken by the (UPSA) Unaided Private School Association of the state. The government schools will run as usual in the state as there is no such official notice given by the state government. The government schools will not remain closed on august 8, according to the reports.
The UPSA has asked the for the thorough investigation in the girl’s suicide case. The teacher and principal has been allegedly arrested as the parents of the victim claim that the girl jumped off from the third floor of the school building because she was being harassed by the teacher and the principal of the school.
The principal and teacher of a school in Azamgarh allegedly arrested after a 17-year-old girl jumped off from the third floor of the school building. They were locked up without any proper investigation. The association demands proper investigation in the suicide matter to probe the charges against the teacher and the principal of Azamgarh’s private school.
The FIR (first information report) against the suicide case was reported to the police station on July 31, 2023. The police are likely to investigate into the matter thoroughly as soon as possible.
