Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced the recruitment of 350 Specialist Officers (SO) under its Human Resource Plan (HRP) for 2025-26. The recruitment drive aims to fill various positions across multiple domains such as Credit, IT, Cyber Security, Data Science, and Industry-related roles. The bank is inviting eligible candidates to apply online within the specified time frame.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) Specialist Officers Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

To be eligible for the PNB Specialist Officer recruitment, a candidate must be:

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  3. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently, or
  4. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specific countries (Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, etc.) with the intent to settle permanently in India, provided they have an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

Age Criteria

  • Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I): Minimum 21 years, Maximum 30 years
  • Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II): Minimum 25 years, Maximum 35 years
  • Middle Management Grade Scale-III (MMGS-III): Minimum 27 years, Maximum 38 years

Age relaxations are applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government regulations.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) Specialist Officers Educational Qualifications & Certifications

Candidates must possess specific educational qualifications for each post. Some general qualifications include:

  • Officer (Credit) – JMGS-I: CA, CMA, CFA, or MBA/PGDM in Finance with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Officer (Industry) – JMGS-I: B.E./B.Tech in various engineering disciplines with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Manager (IT) – MMGS-II: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/IT or MCA with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Senior Manager (IT) – MMGS-III: Same qualifications as Manager (IT) but with additional experience.
  • Manager (Data Scientist) – MMGS-II: B.E./B.Tech or Master’s in Data Science/AI with AI/ML certifications.
  • Senior Manager (Data Scientist) – MMGS-III: Similar qualifications but requiring more experience.
  • Manager (Cyber Security) – MMGS-II: B.E./B.Tech in Cyber Security/Computer Science with relevant certifications.
  • Senior Manager (Cyber Security) – MMGS-III: More experienced professionals in Cyber Security roles.

Candidates must hold valid certifications wherever required, and work experience is mandatory for managerial positions.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) SO Selection Process

1. Online Written Test (If Conducted)

PNB may conduct an online written test depending on the number of applications received. The test will be divided into two parts:

  • Part-I: General Aptitude (Reasoning, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude)
  • Part-II: Professional Knowledge related to the specific post

Each wrong answer will attract a penalty of 0.25 marks. Only candidates qualifying in Part-I will have their Part-II papers evaluated.

2. Personal Interview

Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the written test (if conducted) or direct screening of applications will be called for an interview. The interview will be for 50 marks, with the following minimum qualifying scores:

  • SC/ST Candidates: 22.5 marks (45%)
  • Other Candidates: 25 marks (50%)

3. Final Selection

The final selection will be based on:

  1. The combined score of the online test (Professional Knowledge) and the interview, OR
  2. The interview score alone (if no written test is conducted)

Punjab National Bank SO Exam Centers

The online test (if held) will be conducted across multiple cities in India, including but not limited to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and regional centers in various states.

Bond Requirement

Selected candidates will be required to sign a service bond, committing to serve PNB for a minimum period:

  • MMG Scale-III: INR 3 lakhs (5 years)
  • MMG Scale-II: INR 2 lakhs (3 years)
  • JMG Scale-I: INR 1 lakh (3 years)

Other Important Guidelines

  1. CIBIL Score Requirement: Candidates must have a minimum CIBIL score of 680 at the time of joining.
  2. Biometric Verification: PNB may conduct biometric verification at different stages of recruitment.
  3. Strict Disciplinary Actions: Any candidate found indulging in misconduct, including providing false information, will be disqualified.
