New India-Japan Study and Research Centre opens at IIM Kozhikode

The proposal to create an India-Japan Study and Research Centre has received approval from the board of governors of the Indian Institute of Management, IIM Kozhikode, with the aim of boosting management education and research capabilities in certain areas of shared interest between the two nations.
India and Japan have a long history of bilateral development collaboration, according to Debashis Chatterjee, director of IIM Kozhikode, who announced the creation of the study institute. According to an official statement quoting him, the connection between the two countries has improved over time, especially in the economic, cultural, and industrial spheres.
Through research, training, and other management development activities, he noted, this will help foster understanding of Japan in India and India in Japan.
Rajib Shaw, a visiting professor from Japan’s Keio University, will advise IIM Kozhikode on the center’s operations. According to the statement, IIM Kozhikode collaborates and partners regularly with more than 50 foreign universities to offer student exchange programmes through international immersions.
Highlights of IIM Kozhikode
The Indian Government, working with the State Government of Kerala, founded the Indian Institute of Management in Kozhikode in 1996. The institute, which is located in Kerela, sprawls across 112.5 acres.
The NIRF 2022 Rankings place IIM Kozhikode at number five in the ‘Management’ category. The institution is also approved by EQUIS and the Association of AMBA.
The Doctoral Programme in Management (PhD), Post Graduate Programme (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP-Finance), Post Graduate Programme in Liberal Studies & Management (PGP-LSM), Post Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL), and seven executive programmes are among the many academic programmes offered by IIM Kozhikode.
