NBSE 2023: Class 8, 9 phase 1 exam dates released; exam from September 21

The timetable for the Class 8 and Class 9 phase I exams in 2023 has been released by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) in Kohima. The timetable states that the NBSE Class 8, 9 exams will start on September 21. The NBSE phase 1 schedule for 2023 can be viewed and downloaded by students at the official website, nbsel.edu.in. On September 27, 2023, the phase 1 exams for both classes will be finished.

The NBSE notice reads, “Private schools registered with NBSE shall conduct Phase I of the class 8th and 9th exams 2023 with the above schedule.”

In other news, the Nagaland government has requested that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 enable English to be used as the primary language of instruction in schools rather than mother tongue. This is because the state has a number of indigenous languages. The state recognises 17 significant Naga tribes, each of which speaks its own language and has no officially defined dialect.
