Karnataka NMMS Scholarship 2023: Registration Process Starts; Eligibility Criteria, Steps to Apply

The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS 2023) registration process for children in Class 8 has been launched by the Karnataka School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council (KSQAAC) as of yesterday.
On the official website, kseeb.karnataka.gov.in, school principals and headmasters have till October 4 to complete the applications for qualified students for the Karnataka NMMS 2023 scholarship. To take the exam, students have the option of using the Kannada, English, Urdu, Marathi, or Telugu mediums. The KSQAAC will conduct it on December 17.
NMMS for Karnataka: How to Apply
- kseeb.karnataka.gov.in/NTSENMMS is the official website to visit.
- Select the ‘Login’ link.
- Create a password by entering the default username and password.
- Use your registration number and password to get into your account.
- Save it after entering the necessary information and uploading your passport-size photo.
- The format for the certificate issued by the Head of the School/Institution (HOI) should also be printed out with the application.
- The HOI Certificate must be signed with an official seal, and the account holder must upload the signed Certificate together with scanned copies of the following documents: (i) the parent’s income certificate; (ii) the first page of the bank passbook; (iii) the saste certificate; and (iv) the disability certificate.
- Press the “Finalise application” button after that.
Eligibility Criteria: Karnataka NMMS Scholarship
Candidates for the scholarship must have earned at least a 55% grade point average in Class 7 or an equivalent. The students should have attended public, publicly aided, or locally run schools. To be eligible for the NMMS scholarships, their household income should not exceed Rs 3.5 lakh.
For the purpose of maintaining their scholarship in higher secondary school, pupils must pass the Class 10 board test with a minimum grade of 60% and Class 11 in the first try with a grade of 55% or equivalent. Candidates from the SC and ST categories will receive a 5% relaxation.
The NMMS scholarship is not available to students attending residential schools like Morarji Desai, Kitturrani Chennamma, Navodaya School, Vajpayee School, Eklavya, KGBV, or Ambedkar Residential School. People attending Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, or any other privately aided residential school that is financed by the government are likewise ineligible to apply for this exam.

- The simplest and most effective approach to be ready for the exam is to practise with sample questions and work through previous years’ examinations.
- To achieve a high score and be chosen for the scholarship, students should be familiar with the entire syllabus and put up a lot of effort.
About NMMS Scholarship 2023
The goal of the NMMS Scholarship is to support class 8 students from economically disadvantaged sections in their pursuit of higher education. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, MHRD (Gov. of India), oversees the administration of the National Means Cum- Merit Scholarship (NMMS) programme. Students who are from the economically disadvantaged section and have completed class 8 with at least a 55% grade point average are eligible to apply for the NMMS Scholarship.
