The Humanities and Social Science departments of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur recently hosted a conference. The matter of discussion in the conference was interweaving Anthropology, Science and Narrative in the face of Climate Crisis.

There were highly knowledgeable scholars, mentors, students, researchers, experts from around the world were present at the event. It was a three day event in which IIT Kharagpur played an important role. The discussions were aimed at addressing the current global climatic crisis sand its effect on human race.

The event thrown light on the relationship between human beings, society, the environment, and their scientific relevance. Mentors from various field explained the role of Anthropology in understanding the human relationship with environmental science since ages. It focused on human centric activities that can help in improving the condition of climatic changes globally.

Who were present?

There were dynamic speakers from the field of anthropology, environmental and narrative studies were present in the event.

The HOD (Head of the Department), Humanities and Social Science of IIT Kharagpur was very optimistic regarding the event. He has shown his full zeal and enthusiasm for the event. The addresses by saying that this interdisciplinary discussion on major gobal issues will enhance the understanding of the current challenges of human race. It has shown various ways of tackling those issues. A diverse perspective is crucial to handle such major issues.

The conference also provided a diverse platform to the students and researchers who want to contribute for a better world.  They also participated through discussions and presentations mentioning the remedies of how one can connect with the current climatic issues. The understanding of anthropology will pave way to several solutions to the existing problems.
