IIT DELHI to be Second after IIT Madras
After IIT Madras, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is the second IIT to announce the creation of an offshore campus. IIT Madras inked an MoU last week to establish a campus in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
This action encourages educational collaboration and opportunity in the region and represents a significant expansion of the famed IIT system outside of Indian borders.
The IIT Madras at Zanzibar campus is scheduled to open in October 2023 and would initially accept 50 undergraduate and 20 graduate students. Zanzibar will join Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur as one of IIT’s three foreign campuses.
