IIT Delhi , University of Queensland Announce Joint PhD Program: Eligibility, Scholarships, and Application Details Inside

For the academic year 2023–2024, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the University of Queensland will jointly provide a PhD curriculum through their academy of research. By going to the official website, uqidar.org, qualified and interested applicants can submit an online application for the PhD programme. The application deadline is October 3, 2023.

The PhD programme is open to applicants with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, or social sciences.

How to apply for IIT Delhi, University of Queensland PhD admission 2023

Candidates can apply as an Indian or foreign student (i-student) by following the instructions below:

  • Candidates must first apply for an open project before applying to the UQIDAR PhD programme.
  • Candidates who want to be considered for admission to the joint PhD programme must meet the eligibility conditions.
  • While completing the online application, candidates must upload the required supporting papers.
  • Candidates must additionally fill out an online Expression of Interest form (EOI).
  • After the deadline for EOIs has passed, EOIs will be shortlisted based on their qualifications, histories, goals, and aptitude.
  • The applicant will get an official offer letter if their application is accepted.

Eligibility Criteria:

I-students and q-students are the two PhD pathways to take into account. Depending on whether you are an i-student or a q-student, there are varying eligibility requirements.

i-students

International candidates (with citizenship other than Australia’s) and Indian nationals will both be given consideration for admission as i-students. Before finishing one year (or more) of study at UQ, i-students will complete their first year of study at IITD. At IITD, they would then finish the rest of their coursework. On the UQIDAR website, i-students can determine their eligibility.

q-students

Domestic Australian students will be given priority for admission as q-students. Before finishing their studies for one year (or more) at IITD, q-students will spend their first year of study at UQ. You can check your eligibility on the UQIDAR website if you are a q-student.

University of Queensland, IIT Delhi PhD entrance 2023: Required documents

  • Certificates of achievement or degrees from graduation or convocation.
  • Academic records or combined grade-sheets
  • proof that you meet the standards for English language proficiency.
  • Names and phone numbers of at least two referees.
  • copy scans of each competitive entrance exam.
  • Additional supporting documentation.

Students will be offered a jointly awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from both universities after successfully completing the programme. Candidates will get a sizeable scholarship to support them during the PhD study. Candidates will have the chance to study in Australia and India through the programme. Additionally, funding for research training and travel will be given to students.
