According to a formal statement, the Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak intends to work with the Haryana Police to help its personnel strengthen their managerial skills. A Memorandum of Association (MoA) was allegedly signed on behalf of the Haryana Police. Shivendra Kumar Pandey, Dean (Research and Executive Education), IIM Rohtak, and Sandeep Khirwar, Additional DGP (Law and Order), Haryana.

We need to work for a change in the current changing technological advancement scenario, said P K Agrawal, the director general of the Haryana Police, and Dheeraj P Sharma, the director of IIM Rohtak, who were both in attendance at the event at the police headquarters in Panchkula. A contract is now being exchanged with a renowned institution like IIM Rohtak. In the years to come, this will undoubtedly change, allowing for more professional policing.

According to the Memorandum of Agreement, IIM Rohtak and the Haryana Police seek to work together to create a curriculum and offer a Post Graduate Diploma in Management to the state police force’s “Group A” officials, which includes IPS and DSP, rank officers. Both organisations simultaneously plan to run an executive certificate programme in data analytics that is specifically tailored for use in law enforcement applications.

The accord will also look into how to make police work and citizen expectations more harmonious. Police officers will be suggested by the government to take the training. The main goal of the MoA is to establish an institutional mechanism for knowledge-sharing between police officers and the faculty and students of IIM-Rohtak, to aid state police in building their capacity and developing their skills, and to facilitate the exchange of faculty and research persons for academic and research purposes on an honorary or consulting basis. The MoA would be in effect for a period of five years.
