IIIT Kottayam Invites Applications for MTech, Ph.D. Courses

The last date to apply for MTech courses is November 30, while that for Ph.D. programmes is November 23.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam has issued an open call for MTech and Ph.D. candidates. MTech programs are designed for working professionals. The courses include big data and machine learning, artificial intelligence and data science, cyber security, and computer science and engineering.

According to an Onmanorama article, criteria for admission is a pass in BTech in any field with 50% marks, BE, AMIE, MCA, or CS/IT/Maths. The candidate should be employed in either an industry or academic setting. The maximum number of seats available is 60, with a minimum of 20 seats available in each field of study. Candidates can finish the course in three to five years, depending on their schedule. The course can also be completed as part of an integrated Ph.D. program.

After completing the qualifying course, the candidate’s experience in the relevant subject will be considered for admission. The applications must be received by November 30. Those who pass the preliminary phase of selection will be required to take a written exam and an interview from December 9 to December 18. On December 21, the selection list will be revealed, and courses will begin on January 6.

Candidates interested in obtaining a Ph.D. in computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, or computational mathematics should apply no later than November 23, 2022. The program will be divided into four categories: scholarship holders (full-time), sponsored (full-time), self-financed (full-time), and external registrants. The selection will be based on a written test and an interview, and lessons will begin on January 4.
