DTU Alumna Shines: Secures 19th Rank in UPSC CSE 2022 in First Attempt

Laghima Tiwari, a former student of Delhi Technology University (DTU), has achieved a remarkable feat for the university by obtaining the 19th position in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, CSE 2022.
In 2022, Laghima Tiwari, an alumna of Delhi Technology University (DTU) with a BTech degree in Electronics and Communication, accomplished a remarkable feat by securing the 19th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) on her very first attempt. Her achievement stands as a testament to her dedication and hard work, and it has brought pride and recognition to both Tiwari and DTU. Being a fresher in the highly competitive UPSC CSE, her exceptional performance highlights her academic prowess and potential for contributing significantly to the Indian Civil Services. Her success serves as an inspiration for aspiring civil servants and reflects the quality of education provided by DTU.
Laghima Tiwari, originally from Alwar, Rajasthan, had her upbringing and schooling in Delhi. Her father, Satish Chand Sharma, is a teacher, and her mother, Kanta Sharma, is a homemaker. After completing her BTech degree from DTU, Tiwari dedicated herself to preparing for the UPSC CSE examination.
The UPSC CSE result for 2022 saw a total of 933 candidates recommended for appointment to the Indian Civil Services. Among them, 345 candidates belonged to the general category, 99 to EWS, 263 to OBC, 154 to SC, and 72 to ST category.
The UPSC CSE preliminary exam was conducted on June 5, 2022, with the results being announced on June 22. The main examination took place from September 16 to 25, followed by the declaration of results on December 6. Subsequently, the interview round occurred on May 18.
In the UPSC CSE Mains exam for 2023, a total of 14,624 candidates qualified to proceed further. The UPSC CSE Prelims exam for 2023 was held on May 28.
