Cancer awareness programme held at AMU’s Rural Health Training Centre
ALIGARH February 6: The doctors, residents and interns participated in an awareness programme, marking the World Cancer Day 2025, which was organized at the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Jawan, under the guidance of Prof. Saira Mehnaz (Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine) and under the supervision of Prof. Uzma Eram (Member Incharge, RHTC) and Dr. Tabassum Nawab.
Dr. Uzma Eram discussed various myths associated with the disease and urged the people to keep vigilant about medical conditions that may cause cancer. She said that adopting a healthy life style and doing regular physical workouts can save us from this disease.
Dr Asma Ashraf (Junior Resident) and Dr Satyendra (Intern) explained the risk factors of different types of Cancer, while Dr. Sidra (Intern) explained common signs and symptoms of cancer and necessary investigations.
Dr. Shafia Shafiq (Junior Resident) discussed prevention and control of Cancer and various screening methods, while Dr. Iram Abid (Senior Resident) concluded by responding to queries from the participants.
