Calculate Percentage of Marks Using these Two Simple Steps.

Below are the steps on how to calculate the percentage of marks (marks to percentage): You can calculate the percentage of marks by using these two steps.

Step 1: Firstly, you need to divide the  marks achieved by the maximum marks of the test/exam.

Step 2: Secondly, you need to Multiply the result by 100.

Let us understand how to calculate a student's percentage of marks. I.E. the total number of marks obtained should be divided by the maximum marks, and then multiplied by 100.

The formula for percentages is: (Actual Value) / (Total Value) × 100 = Percentage

To help you understand the basic concept you can use this Example 

Calculate the percentage of marks of 7 subjects. Math 92, Physics 88, Chemistry 76, Hindi 72, Biology 83, computer science 85, social science 77.

Solution:

Total marks scored - 92+88+76+72+83+85+77 = 573
Maximum marks = 700
Percentage of marks - (573/700)x100 = 81.85%
