Many students choose to start a career in engineering or computer science after finishing 12th grade since it is the most popular degree course after 12th-grade science. Eligibility Criteria for Engineering Courses

BE/B.Tech

  • A candidate must have passed the Class XII exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects, and must have achieved minimum marks of 60 percent in those subjects together
  • B.TechLateral entry - A minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks or an equivalent degree must be obtained from a state-certified Board of Technical Examinations
  • ME/M.Tech - ME/MTech is open to students with an undergraduate engineering degree and a valid GATE score.
  • Ph.D. - To be eligible, candidates must have obtained at least 55 percent marks in B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent degrees in appropriate branches.

While some technical institutes accept AIRs (All India Ranks) earned in national-level exams, others conduct their own entrance examinations.
