Shri Ram College of Commerce: University chancellor Suneel Galgotia receives an alumni award from SRCC
Suneel Galgotia, the chancellor of Galgotias University, is recognised as a prominent alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). At the Delhi Gymkhana club, SRCC chairman Ajay Sharman and principal Smrit Kaur presented the prize.
He attended St. Columba’s School in New Delhi for his secondary schooling before attending Shri Ram College of Commerce for his undergraduate studies.
His career was launched when he started exploring serious entrepreneurship with a publishing business in the early 1980s.
The official Galgotia University website stated that due to the rapidly evolving technological landscape, he gradually leveraged the nascent computer boom with first Indian authors, then with foreign authors and publishers.
With 40 students, Suneel Galgotia established the Galgotias Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) in 2000.
Today, 4,500 students are enrolled in a variety of courses at Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET). Galgotias Business School (GBS), in addition to the engineering college, was also founded by him.
Additionally, he was given the DQ ICT prize. The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) presented the India Excellence Award and the National Education Excellence Awards to Galgotias University in 2017 while he served as its president.
According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2023) published by the minister of education, Shri Ram College of Commerce was placed 11th this year.
