XAT 2024: Syllabus, Exam Pattern and Analysis

For admission in MBA/ PGDM programs XLRI, Jamshedpur conducts a national level management entrance exam which is XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test. XAT scores for admission in post-graduation management programs are accepted by XLRI as well as 10 other XAMI member colleges and more than 1,000 B-schools.

Syllabus For XAT 2024

Syllabus for XAT 2024 hasn’t changed and is similar to that of the XAT 2023 syllabus. Below are some key points to be considered while preparing for XAT 2024.

  • XAT Decision Making: This section will consist of scenarios from personal and professional life and will require critical thinking, problem solving and decision making
  • XAT Verbal and Logical Ability: Critical and analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, parajumbles etc.
  • XAT Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Modern Maths etc.
  • XAT General Knowledge: Politics, culture, society, books, invention, technology, science, arts etc.
  • Essay Writing: Writing as Essay on the given topic in 250 Words.

In the previous sessions, it has been observed that the XAT Decision Making section is unique, it has no particular syllabus or topics. Hence, candidates can refer to the previous session’s test papers to prepare accordingly. In the essay writing section, there will be three topics which will be given to the candidates and the candidates need to choose one of them and write about it in 250 words.

Exam Analysis For XAT 2024

Exam Analysis are usually shared on the exam day or after that. For getting an idea about the difficulty level of the exam, previous years XAT Exam Analysis has been shared below.

  • The overall test paper difficulty level was Moderate to High.
  • Candidates found the Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation tough.
  • Candidates had to write an essay in 250 words on the given topic.
