Sensitization Programme and CME on MDR organized at JNMC

ALIGARH : The Department of TB and Chest Diseases, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Sensitization Programme on ‘100-day intensified TB Campaign’-cum-CME on Multidrug-Resistant (MDR) Tuberculosis to discuss updates in this area with a multi-disciplinary approach.
Prof Mohammad Shameem, Chairman of the department and Vice-Chairman, UP State Task Force presented a report on the actions and plans adopted to manage the 100-day intensified TB campaign, while the Deputy DTO, Dr Imran Siddique shed light on the key points of the intensified TB campaign.
Prof Shameem also administered a pledge to the participants, including chairmen and Residents of various departments, nursing staff and NTEP staff to actively participate in the TB elimination programme and carry out screening of vulnerable population, which will be a great move to fight with this deadly disease.
During the CME, Dr Shariq from Department of Microbiology discussed different aspects of diagnosis of MDR TB, Dr Shehzad Anwar from Department of TB and Chest Diseases talked about the treatment of MDR TB, including newly added BPaLM regimen, and Dr Nafees Khan discussed about the side effects and management of MDR TB medicines.
