About SEED
The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) administers the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), a test of design aptitude, as the first phase in its two-part admissions procedure. Candidates who pass the written SEED exam are then required to participate in a portfolio review and personal interview (PRPI) phase.
The candidate’s overall performance in the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design, Portfolio Review, PRPI Task, and Personal Interaction will be taken into account when compiling the merit list for SID.
It should be noted that beginning in 2019, the SEED exam will also be used for admission to the BDes programmes offered at the Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture, and Design (SSPAD), Nagpur.
The SEED exam measures a candidate’s proficiency in areas such as colour, geometry, visual perception, general design awareness, creative problem-solving skills, and knowledge of Indian culture, craft, and customs, among other things.
