The Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the IMA National Zonal coordinator Dhruv Chauhan also had different points of view. While, IMA welcomed the move, the the zonal coordinator of IMA said that the decision “should concern the general public more”
“The current decision to reduce the NEET PG cut off to “- 40 points ” should not worry doctors.” It should concern the broader population, who are still mute on the subject. Dhruv Chauhan tweeted, “Your health is openly traded in the market of private mafias and politicians.”
Lakshya Mittal, national president of the United Doctors Front Association (UDFA), stated that the “revision of NEET PG cut-off to zero should not be viewed negatively because admission to PG seats will still be on the basis of merit alone.”

Some X users believe the government made the move to favour private medical schools.
