Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow University (LU) has developed a comprehensive plan to establish campuses throughout the G20 nations. The institution is in discussions with state government authorities to help it reach an understanding with representatives of the member countries where it can start providing its academic programmes in the future as G20 meetings are suggested for the state.
Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, vice chancellor of Lucknow University, was quoted by IANS as saying, “We strive to provide excellent academics. We have already begun discussions with state government representatives. In the event that a G20 member state expresses interest, we would prefer to establish our campus there. It will serve as a branch campus for us. Since there have been more international students attending the institution over the past three years, the vice-chancellor noted that he was optimistic about establishing the university’s image abroad.
LU obtained an A++ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). “The university got about 850 applications from international students this year. Three years ago, there were just 60 foreign applications, he said.
The vice-chancellor also provided an update on the impending convocation for the varsity. He announced that the chief guest for the Lucknow University convocation, which will take place on January 21, will be former ISRO Chief Dr. K Kasturirangan, who served as the chairman of the committee charged with drafting NEP (National Education Policy) 2020.
