LinkedIn: Indian Professionals Are Embracing AI Skills At Work To Remain Flexible
Artificial intelligence is becoming more prevalent in the workplace, and Indian professionals are embracing these talents. The number of these professionals has climbed 14 times since 2016, according to a research released by LinkedIn on Thursday.
In India, the number of users with AI skills surged 14 times between January 2016 and June 2023, according to LinkedIn’s first ever global “Future of Work: State of Work @ AI” report. According to the research, this expansion places India among the top five nations for the growth of AI talent, with Singapore, Finland, Ireland, and Canada.
The value of LinkedIn’s AI Skills Index reflects the growth in the proportion of users who have at least two AI skills listed on their profiles since January 2016. The use of AI in the workplace has increased over the past year, and as a result, 60% of all workers and 71% of Gen Z professionals in India now acknowledge that learning AI skills could improve job chances.
According to the survey, AI and machine learning are among the top skills that Indians wish to master, and 2 in 3 of them think they would learn at least one digital skill by 2023. It further mentioned that top business executives in India are giving priority to hiring, training, and implementation of AI.
LinkedIn is investing Rs 3 crore in a three-year relationship with The/Nudge Institute, a non-profit aiming to develop sustainable livelihoods for all, in an effort to create a skills-first labour market.
According to LinkedIn, this partnership would aim to improve the employability skills of young people from economically underprivileged neighbourhoods in India and prepare them for the future.
In order to guarantee that their teams stay flexible and agile, businesses are actively reskilling their current staff in AI skills, according to the 57% of executives who aim to increase AI use in their organisations next year.
