Karnataka NEET Counselling UG 2023: Mop-up Round Starts today; See Eligibility Here?

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the mop-up round counselling dates for MBBS and BDS admission to state medical colleges via National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG 2023) results. Aspirants who did not receive a college offer in round 1 or round 2 would be eligible to participate in Karnataka NEET UG mop-up counselling.

To KEA, all category candidates must submit a Rs. 1 lakh caution deposit. 682 open seats in various categories were available as of September 12. From today until September 20 and 19, respectively, candidates can submit additional alternatives and pay a caution deposit.

KEA NEET UG Mop-up Round: Eligibility Criteria

Mop-up Round Security Deposit for KEA NEET

To participate in the mop-up round, candidates must submit INR 1,000,000 to KEA as a caution deposit.

  • The security deposit will be subtracted from the entrance fee if the candidates are offered a seat during the allocation process.
  • The caution deposit will be lost if the candidate is offered a seat but fails to report to the institution, and they will be responsible for paying the full first-year tuition to KEA in accordance with the regulations.

Who is eligible for the Karnataka NEET UG Mop-up Round?

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the eligibility criteria for participating in the Karnataka NEET UG mop-up round counselling in 2023.

  • Candidates who were assigned a medical seat in KEA in the first or second rounds of UGNEET-2023 are ineligible to participate.
  • Choice-3 candidates from the first round who were assigned a medical seat in the second round are not eligible for the UGNEET-2023 mop-up round.
  • Candidates who have been assigned dental seats through KEA can only participate in the mop-up round for medical seat selection, not for dental seat selection again.

Important Instructions: Karnataka NEET UG Mop-up Round

The following are crucial guidelines provided by KEA, the official conducting body for counselling, for applicants interested in taking part in the Karnataka NEET UG Mop-up Round:

  • Medical course seat distribution shall only take place in accordance with the KEA schedule.
  • No candidates who received seats in Round 1 or Round 2 will be permitted to compete in the mop-up round.
  • The UGNEET mop-up round is not open to applicants who reported to the college after receiving their seat assignments in Round 1 or Round 2 of the All India Counselling for Deemed Universities/Central Universities.

Process of Counselling (AIQ Quota)

Candidates who are applying to medical or dental colleges in Karnataka must sign up for the NEET 2023 counselling. Online NEET 2023 counselling can be done in two rounds for the All India Quota. These steps will make up the counselling.

  • Register as a candidate on the official website.
  • choosing Filling and Locking (Round 1): You must select the academic programmes and colleges of your choosing before locking in your selections on the online application.
  • Seating Results from Round 1: Using available openings and candidate preferences, the seat allocation can be printed online.
  • entering college: Those who receive a seat assignment in the first round may either reject the seat or return to the assigned college to complete the entrance requirements.
  • For candidates who were unable to register during the first round of counselling, new registration (Round 2) is available.
  • Round 2 of Fresh Choice Filling and Locking is comparable to Round 1 discussed above.
  • Seat Allocation Result (Round 2): Comparable to the round 1 discussed above.
  • Reporting to College (Round 2): It should be mentioned that, in accordance with Supreme Court of India rulings, those who receive a seat during the second round of counselling (15% AIQ Quota) would not be allowed to resign from their seats.
