Jadavpur University: Student passes away after falling from hostel balcony

Police reported on Thursday morning that a first-year student at Kolkata’s Jadavpur University had allegedly died after falling from the second-floor balcony of the main hostel.
The 18-year-old was an undergraduate Bengali (honours) student. Around 11.45 p.m. on Wednesday, they claimed he fell from the A2 hostel building.
“He suffered numerous wounds and was receiving care at the KPC Medical College. At 4.30 am, he passed away from his wounds, a police officer reported.
He claimed that the youngster lived in the Hanskhali neighbourhood of Nadia district in Bagula. According to police, the first year of classes started a few days ago.
